A nice way to round off a magical season.

Muric - 7 - a couple of very decent saves (even if one was offside) and purposeful throughout. The nutmeg just about summed up his season and felt the logical conclusion of everything he's been part of.

Roberts - 7 - neat, tidy and sharp.

Maatsen - 7 - a lively presence up and down the line and efficient when he stepped inside.

Al Dakhil - 7 - generally very assured and his potential was obvious once more.

THB - 7 - tidy and solid generally speaking.

Cullen - 8 - a really effective 65 minutes once again. The focus now is finding his perfect partner for the Premier League.

Brownhill - 8 - sniffed out his goal well, helped make Barnes' and generally helped us control the midfield.

Gudmundsson- 7 - some nice passes and tidy enough without being especially incisive.

Twine - 8 - superb free kick (I can't work out how he got it up and over so comfortably) and generally really effective from tee to green, even if his finishing in open play was wanting.

Zaroury- 8 - linked really well with Twine, kept the ball moving and the only blemish was his finishing.

Barnes - 8 - a trademark lashed finish was the perfect way to sign off a wonderful Burnley career, and his link play wasn't bad either.

Cork - 7 - steady enough but the game was done.

Tella - 6 - showed his pace and ball carrying ability even if his crossing radar was off.

Vitinho - 6 - fine.

Taylor - 6 - fine.


A wonderful season draws to a close in the perfect way. Cardiff did the decent thing and gave us a guard of honour, then forgot they were supposed to lose the deference at kick off. We were the better side from the kick off, created plenty of chances and once we got the benefit of a slightly curious opening goal, the game was done and the only question was how many.

Credit to the Turf Moor team who did a cracking job of whipping up am atmosphere before and after the game. These are special moments. The class of 22/23 can take their place in the history books: 100 points, 80 odd goals and some off the finest football I've seen or ever will see at Burnley. Roll on next season.

Barnes 8 - brilliant way to sign off with a goal, such a typical Barnes first time instinctive finish too

Muric - 9 - Extra point for, and I'm being serious, the nutmeg. Audacious, confident, ridiculous. Period in second half where he must've touched it more than any other player. His distribution is beyond brilliant and I love watching him play.

A season beyond our wildest dreams got the storybook ending. The game itself was sort of academic with both teams cruising, but it’s magic that Barnes get his goal. Kompany is an extraordinary addition to our club’s history and somebody who has absolutely rejuvenated this club. A truly wonderful day, a truly wonderful season. UTC

It's difficult to know whether Cardiff are just rank bad or having guaranteed survival had simply switched off, but it was yet another game this season where the gulf between us and the rest was absolutely glaring. The only opportunities Cardiff had were as a result of us overplaying or being too casual. Essentially we dominated from minute one and once again 5 or 6 nil wouldn't have flattered us. I was made up for Barnes scoring as he bowed out, but the ever improving Scott Twine really caught my eye and has done in recent weeks. He could and actually should have had a hat trick in the space of 5 minutes, but those misses aside I feel he's becoming more and more influential and pivotal in our attacking play. Yes, it might have been easy enough to shine against poor opposition, but still I hope VK perseveres with him next season as despite his slight stature I think there's a real player there.
Oh, and spotted a lonely looking solitary figure who I realised was David Eyers as I was leaving and managed to shake his hand. Icing on the cake!!!

Muric 8 - Two really good stops and a cheeky nutmeg. Has really grown as a player this year for me.

Roberts 8 - Another who has really developed post-World Cup. His energy levels, use of the ball have all gone up several notches. Absolutely integral to the way we play.
Al Dakhil 8 - Very excited to see how he's going to get on in the Premier League. So calm in and out of possession. Him alongside Beyer (hopefully!) will be a brilliant pairing.
Harwood-Bellis 8 - Best game since his return from injury. Looked back to his confident best on the ball.
Maatsen 7 - Up and down and helped to link play nicely with Zaroury and Twine.

Cullen 9* - An absolute joy to watch. Rarely wasteful in possession, strong in the tackle and the absolute key cog in the centre of the park.
Gudmundsson 7 - A quieter game out wide than we've seen from JBG but always there for a pass.
Brownhill 7 - Right place for the goal and a lovely cross that led to the Barnes goal. Plenty of energy but, again, a bit quieter.

Zaroury 6 - Looks like he needs a good rest over the summer. Kept at his task but didn't quite come off for him. Been a little bit quieter post-WC but doesn't take away from a brilliant debut season.
Barnes 9 - The perfect way to sign off. Captain for the day and a super finish for the goal.
Twine 8 - Best game in Claret and Blue. Should really have had a hat-trick but his shooting was off until the free-kick. Always looking for the ball, especially in the second half.

All 7 bar Cullen who was 8. His concentration and marshalling of the players around him is great to see. Not convinced Twine is ready for the PL but a superb free kick.

Great end to an amazing season. The chavs on the pitch at the end tried to spoil the day but didn’t succeed.

Essentially rating a training session bit you can only beat what's in front of you and Cardiff didn't bother to put anything there. A party game played in as relaxed an atmosphere as you'll get at a football match meant it was pretty dull at times but the script was written and played out nicely.

The coronation is never as good as the promotion and the title winning moment but as a celebration of what this team, this manager and our club have given us this year, it fit the bill very well indeed.
