Top summing up there Tony. Who would have thought it when we went down from the premier one year ago

Oh I enjoyed that read, thanks CT and your anthology of joy....the lack of stress mixed with playing football which was pure class. Lets see what the future holds but I have a sneaky feeling we will be OK

Don’t think any of us could have expected the season we’ve had. Not many negatives at All although I just wish we hadn’t lost that one home game against QPR.

I think the stars aligned to make us lose to QPR, so we could then win the title at Ewood. Perfect in the end.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 8:17 pmDon’t think any of us could have expected the season we’ve had. What a great read that was. A most professional summing up of that wonderful season. Thank you Tony.
Re: ARTICLE: Burnley Football Club – Champions Once More
That was a consensus of opinions as we walked up past the cricket club after the QPR game ... a sense of calm and expectancy that the title would be won at Ewood

Great read Tony. Thanks for them all this season.
I would have taken 10th as a great season this year.
Gutted to miss PNE at home, Rovers away and even more gutted I had to be away with work on Monday.

Love that. Thankyou
Re: ARTICLE: Burnley Football Club – Champions Once More
Great read. Games 1-12-19 points 13-46 82 points and if those 34 were reflected over 46 games as near as damn it 111 points.

Not often I miss as many as three games but both Preston & Watford at home with covid and then Ewood.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 8:53 pmGreat read Tony. Thanks for them all this season.

Great re-cap.
Just to add to the stats, we had 19 different scorers, which I think is an incredible stat.

I kept pretending to myself that it’s the Championship- there is only ever a few days to the next game..ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 9:24 pmNot often I miss as many as three games but both Preston & Watford at home with covid and then Ewood.
May I suggest the first title review of next season “The boys are back in town”?

First class summary of our special club.
And as for that 'pathetic little club', they really are a bunch of deluded arrogant cnuts that simply cannot accept the changing fortunes of the two clubs.
And don't we just absolutely love it. Hope it continues for many many years.

Great round up of a season when I sometimes wonder if I just dreamt it.
Re: ARTICLE: Burnley Football Club – Champions Once More
Interestingly, even though we only lost 3 games all season, we went into both B*****d games on the back of defeats!

Yup, me too. If we had drawn the QPR game, we’d have still won the title at Ewood, and finished the season unbeaten at home. Still, can’t have any complaints. Fantastic season! Good report Tony, enjoyed that.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 8:17 pmDon’t think any of us could have expected the season we’ve had. Re: ARTICLE: Burnley Football Club – Champions Once More
I think what really grates with them is that they thought fortunes were changing again after a decade of Claret superiority, especially in those early weeks of the season. The dawning realisation that they are still miles behind us must have really hurtIPAclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 10:48 pmFirst class summary of our special club.

The 'Bitters' hopes must have really been up after the weekend of our 5th game when we were 16th in the table.
