They would have been crazy to play him anyway as they are already relegated and he could pick up an injury that would jeopardise any potential big money transfer.

Putting aside such minor details as he’s still technically on loan, presumably he’s not registered in Southampton’s squad either.

He's played his last game and will sign for us.Why would he want to go back to that car crash club?

Because he's contracted to them and has no choice but to return there for pre season, unless of course Southampton sell him to any club that pays the fee they want for him...

There was a lot of posts on here about Southampton recalling Tella in the January. Was that all speculation then??.... because if they had recalled him, I really don't think they would be in the relegation zone with him playing along with Ward Prowse.

Still technically on loan to us. Had to be in case we had ended up in the Play offs

Exactly a piece of paper which is for all intent & purposes legally binding is the fly in the ointment, it's a laughable notion that some people seem to hold that he can go rogue & just exercise the power to do & go wherever he feels without any consequences, I'm glad some of us aren't his agent (if he has 1) advising him.

In theory, could THB play for city in the champions leauge final on the 10th June?

Is he registered for City’s Champions League squad?

There are two transfer windows, January and July-August, and it's only in those windows that player registrations can be changed from one club to another. So Southampton could have re-registered Tella as a Southampton player in January, but because they didn't do that, they can't re-register him until July.
Same with Harwood-Bellis.

The question was could he play in the champions league final. Looking at this THB would not be registered in list A, so that would be a no. Looking at lost B criteria I think he would be excluded too due to his loan spells.

Think you are getting a little carried away here. He was a fringe player at Saints prior to loaning him out to us. He was great in Championship for us, however there is a big gulf in class in the two divisions and him and Ward Prowse wouldn’t have had enough to save that lot.

While all that is true if I were a Soton supporter I’d be furious that they didn’t at least give it a try.

Agreed. He certainly wouldn’t have looked out of his depth in that side and would have at least put a shift in.
