I was thinking about that the other day when Thomas Franck was saying Toney had a value of 100m! Not if they apply the same rules that were applied to Joey Barton. Everyone is officially innocent until proven guilty but it has all gone very quiet...or have I gone a little hard of hearing?

What were the timescales for Barton getting banned after being charged, it seemed very short compared to Toney being allowed to play the whole season which surely is very unfair on the other teams around them?

It stinks. In January, Wigan player Miguel Azeez was banned instantly for picking up a lit flare. Richarleson did this last season- AND threw it towards fans - and he became the poster boy of the PL ,with a ban finally being delivered after the season was over (and Everton were safe).

Barton was investigated from the September, charged in December, banned in April. Part of the delay was because he requested more time to prepare his defence. Suspect Toney is doing exactly the same to string it out to the end of the season.
