Newcastle dominating Brighton in the opening exchanges and could have had a couple already.

Will Norris in the net for Peterborough, expecting a high scoring game 5-3 to Sheff Wed, 7-5 to Peterborough on aggregate.

Has Ings been out of form, or is he no longer considered good enough to be a first choice striker?

If it happens you have to wonder how a team can lose a four goal lead.

14/1 for Wednesday to win the tie prior to kick off.

Had a feeling Wednesday had a chance that’s why I flicked over. Weren’t Blackpool involved in a big first leg win and put travel arrangements to Wembley in the 2nd leg programme, a few years ago. I remember the manager saying Blackpool did his team talk for him, as they knocked them out. I can’t remember who the manager was, or the team, but I have a feeling BFS was around (poss Pool manager).

Mid 90s, Blackpool won 2-0 at Bradford in the first leg, pretty sure they hadn't lost at home all season and then lost 3-0 at home in the 2nd leg. Bradford manager was Chris Kamara. Sam Allardyce was Blackpool manager and was sacked/walked out after the game.

No side in the history of the EFL play offs has ever overcome a 3 goals deficit from the 1st leg never mind a 4 goals deficit.

Take your word for that, I had no idea. Wasn’t a reference to the score so much as that you can never write a team off. Wednesday got 90 odd points so they are no mugs to have been written off as they have been since the first leg.

I don’t know if there’s a more recent one but they definitely had such an instance against Bradford City.
They definitely had Wembley travel details in the programme. With the short turnaround time between the second leg and Wembley, they might well have felt it right to put them in, just in case, as opposed to assuming it guaranteed.
Either way, it was used by the manager as ammunition and sadly, it worked a treat.

Half time and Sheff Wed lead 2-0, Brighton have pulled one back at Newcastle to trail 2-1 and West Ham 0-0 in their semi final but lead 2-1 on agg.

Plymouth had arranged all the transport for their trip to Wembley when we played them. One of their ground staff gave me his coach voucher as he said he wouldn't need it now

Wednesday will have to push more players forward in the second half and if Posh grab a goal it’s game over.
As you say Wednesday can’t be written off completely but it is a big ask given 1st leg deficit.

If Wednesday can get one during this pressure, I’ll fancy them. Peterborough don’t look at all comfortable, it will all go up a notch if they score another.

We have certainly had some successful loans out this season with players at the sharp end of promotion and playoffs.
Norris
McNally
Thomas
Any others?
