Unfortunately we need the irons to lay down and rest a few.

Rather Fat Sam and DL in the premier league than YD and neverton.

Just no.

I dislike West ham quite a lot, but they can't go down now, so I have to hope that they beat Leeds.

But they will probably get two players conveniently sent off so that even Leeds can't f up.

Trouble with West Ham resting players is that the final is on the 7th June.

Any players that don't play between now and then risk losing pretty much all match fitness.

I had no strong feelings about Leeds until I moved here. Since then…

Come on West Ham!

Don't forget Newcastle pretty much guaranteed top 4 now after today's results so they might take their foot off the gas on Monday against Leicester

Does it matter where teams finish in the top four spots with regards to seeding in the CL?

I can't see that really, last home game at the end of a great season, they'll want to finish on a high I think.

agreed. ≈ 50,000 geordies, all drunk (even the bairns), will be rocking sufficiently enough to enable even the disabled.

Obviously the sentimental value of Dyche,Tarks,McNeil coming to Burnley next season is a big pull, plus I think they still owe money for McNeil according to some posters on the accounts thread, more chance wecwill get the cash if they stay up,plus a points deduction for next season would benefit us, so Leeds down for me.

In the same way that I would never again place a bet on Burnley losing a game, I couldn't stomach having a bet on Leeds to win one.

Since I cant have both, I’ll choose Everton please. They must have a world record for ‘longest circling of the drain’ ever.
They need it. And I want to see it.

When did west ham change from being the Hammers to being the Irons? Always used to be the Hammers but are now known in the media almost exclusively as the Irons. Why? Irons is too much like Iron which is Scunthorpe. Why change from a unique nickname to one similar to someone else?

I thinks its linked to their main fans song being 'Any Old Iron'. They sing that song like we sing 'No Nay Never'

Give over stop being daft you are talking about young professional men who train all the time & do alsorts of exercise day in & day out. If young men can’t retain any sort of fitness for a brief period of time it’s a sorry state of affairs.

They were known as Thames Ironworks FC before becoming West Ham. They were known as “the Irons” among locals back in the early 80’s when I lived in the Upton Park area.

Think there is no difference now between 3 and 4. If Newcastle finish 3 and man united 4, Newcastle will be in a lower pot because of the lovely uefa coefficients, designed to ensure that no matter how **** they are at the time, the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona will always end up in pot 1 or 2 as they were good for a few years before.
We have a higher uefa coefficient than Newcastle, so they don't stand a chance - a bit like man city, when they were initially always in a group with two really big guns.

I’ve a feeling Leeds are going to “hammer” them. And I mean beat them well. Hope I’m wrong of course and it’s the other way round.

If the “Gossip” column on BBC Sport is to be believed the Football Insider are claiming that David Moyes intends to leave at the end of this season meaning this will be his last home game in charge. Added incentive maybe?

Not really bothered if Leeds win today. Whatever happens they are not out of it and can see Kane getting a goal or two in, potentially, his last game for Spurs. Both Leeds and Everton fans will be bricking it next week.

Just want to see Everton down , when you read the posts on their Grand old team forum they are toxic and after last season’s “freak” results against United, Chelsea and palace and the fan’s firework displays outside teams hotels I think it’s time they went

I’d love to see how SD and the Burnley lads do in the Championship so for today only I’m cheering on Leeds. Not really possible to lose as Leeds being relegated is 90% as funny.
