Andy Pilley Chairman of Fleetwood Town found guilty of fraud and will be sentenced 23rd May with the Judge indicating jail sentence.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving scumbag.

I read something a good while ago but thought it had blown over. Clearly not and now in custody awaiting sentence.
Fleetwood have confirmed it won’t affect the running of the club.

A few years ago a groundwork company I know had to threaten to rip out a load of work they had done for the club if they didn't get paid. What is it with the Fylde Coast clubs and dodgy owners ?

Pilley is a throughly decent guy when you compare him with the guy at AFC Fylde!

Sorry Marney, Pilley is a bully and a crook of the first order. Whilst DH is a hard headed businessman he is not in Pilleys class in terms of morality.

He has worked miracles for Fleetwood and has done much good for the town and Blackpool.
It also looks like he could be an uncompromising so and so, who sails close to and beyond the wind!
Jail beckons.

Ive been following this matter over the last 6-7 months. Ill stick my neck out and suggest he is looking at between 10-14 years in prison.

Bloody hell. When I read he was told to expect a custodial sentence I wasn’t expecting anything like that.

Seriously ?? Bloody hell , I know he’s got previous and this has been a very long trial but 10-14 yrs! I’d have imagined about 6 yrs tops due to the public impact aspect of mis-selling energy . Though my legal prowess involves being called to the bar for drinks only .

In the same way that Jimmy Saville did a lot for charity.
Pilleys company are BES. Go on to Trustpilot and read the reviews, assuming they are genuine it looks like BES over charge their customers then prevent them from reclaiming their money ranging from hundreds to thousands and they appear to be small businesses without the legal capability of obtaining justice. Note also the positive reviews which follow a very similar pattern, they almost always name a Co-respondent.
Hopefully Pilley will be given a long stretch, and those defrauded of their money will be able to recoup some of their losses as BES should be wide open now.
There may be repercussions for Fleetwood as well depending on how closely they are entwined with BES.

He has been found guilty of multiple charges. He ran a trial so he will receive no credit when sentenced and it is right at the top end of the scale in the guidelines. Ill be amazed if he gets under 10 years.

He's probably less dodgy then some of the rogues they have let run clubs ie Bury.

Wasn't his stalking of someone or threatening behaviour tied in with this case or was that another case against him?

What to expect at a PSR interview?
What is needed for a pre-sentence report?
A pre-sentence report is intended to give the sentencing court some understanding as to why you committed the offence, how you feel about it now, and what your background, family and work circumstances are. Using this information, the court will decide the most appropriate sentence to give you.

Has he? The club have done well, but I can't say he has done anything of note for the town (as a Fleetwood resident).
The Fleetwood FC set-up is very very good for the size of town and club, though I only know of Pilley himself by his reputation (as mentioned).

Sure the owner ofThe Corner Chippy would disagree ha ha
He has invested a lot but more in Burn Naze with Pool Foot, always surprised me he didn't build it in Fleetwood itself, I know its only a mile or two away.

Two people with the same surname have been added to their board, while the owner has some time at His Majesty's pleasure.

According to Fleetwood:
“Steve Curwood, who has been the Club’s CEO for 15 years, will be appointed Interim Chairman with current Vice Chairman Phil Brown to join the board as a Director.”
They have said there will be no further changes to the board until the completion of the change of ownership.

One or two posters above suggesting he wasn't such a bad chap, but basically him and his crew ( 3 other BES employees got jail terms) were pirates plundering small businesses. They should have made him walk the plank but now the taxpayer will have to feed and shelter him for circa 13 years.
