What happens if Leeds win 3-0 and Everton draw - both on 34 points with -24 goal difference? What decides who goes down? Asking for a stupid friend.

I think the order is goal difference, then goals scored over the season, then head to head record, then if the head to head was even they play each other again.

If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by:
Goal difference
Goals scored
Head-to-head
Most away goals in the head-to-head

Everton to stay up followed by the publication of the independent commission report on ffp in 21/22 where various breaches will be confirmed. Fines will be imposed rather than points deduction this season, which would have ensured enforced relegation. Both PL and SKY relieved at this outcome as it keeps the Merseyside derbies intact and a new stadium on stream to further enhance the brand.
Legal action by relegated clubs both this and last season could quickly follow to make an interesting summer. PL will be anxious that the brand is not tarnished by failures of weak governance displayed throughout. Interesting times.
