I'm on 'The Foxes'

Great trainer, yet to land a Derby.

Great Jockey.

Good horse that's done all the right things.

Good price.

Frankie looking for a final swansong.......Is it even remotely possible ?

The smart money suggests it might be.

He had two winners today (out of only 2 rides I think)- including The Oaks. I think he only had 2 rides tomorrow including one of the favourites for The Derby (Arrest) so you certainly have to consider yet another big win for him.

I backed both of his today (because of the form of the horses) so I'm happy with that except I had a ticket to be there today (and a meet with some old workmates) but was banjaxed by the striking rail workers.

Every likelihood that there will be more than one Arrest at Epsom tomorrow judging by the large scale security operation on view.

No, he's talking about the one with the people who ride horses.

Oh, hang on a minute...

Why don't " just stop oil " organise a protest, then normal people can disrupt it ?

Aidan O'brien doesn't normally big up his horses in public, so his comments on August Rodin could be a pointer. Bear in mind his record in the Derby:

"“He’s a very athletic horse, he’s close coupled, a very good mover – he wouldn’t break glass, the way he moves. We’re very happy with him physically, he’s in good form. He’s nice and fresh and we think he’s fit, that’s all you could hope for really.”

Of the horse’s exceptional pedigree, with his parents having won 14 Group races between them, O’Brien added: “Auguste Rodin is a collector’s item. He’s out of Rhododendron, probably one of the best Galileo mares ever, and by Deep Impact, one of the greatest Japanese stallions ever.

“He’s very unique and rare. When you get a horse that’s bred like that, looks like that, moves like that and has the ability he has is very rare, very unusual.”

Of course it may well win, but Auguste Rodin is not bomb proof, it went off 13/8 favourite for the 2000 Gns and finished 12th of 14, beaten 22 lengths. If it had won the Guineas it probably wouldn't have been far off odds on for the Derby, but it flopped badly and so you can get 4/1 about it now. If you have faith in Aidan then that's a standout price for a horse he clearly holds in the highest regard.

Must be the best trainer of flat horses in my lifetime when it comes to winning Classic races. I heard him talk yesterday and he was so confident about a horse that flopped in the Guineas.
