Each player is getting a free bed/mattress through our commercial partnership with Emma Sleep.
I remember we did something with Sealy when crouch was here so nothing new as such.
It’s at least the company sponsoring the partnership relatable unlike added time is/was sponsored by a fitted furniture shop in Accrington

We had Sealey beds (or another bed company but can't recall) as a short sponsor for years and they were named as our official sleep partner. It's not a new thing to have partner sponsorship for anything from drinks to Tyre companies.

Getting good quality sleep is a big issue in sport - it is why a clubs like AC Milan have hotel like facilities at the their training ground - for proper rest between training sessions
I will add that it is good that we are widening the sponsorship portfolio

Clubs such as Man U. have sponsorship partners for everything you can think of. It's why they generate so much money.
I suppose if we can do something similar (obviously on a much smaller scale) it'll increase our revenues quite a bit.

Absolutely. The NFL did a large scientific case study on sleep and athletic impact and found that endurance, focus, reactions and accuracy all improved, the better the sleep was.

I read somewhere that Eddie Howe makes the players sleep on a certain mattress and also does loads of other things to improve their sleep.

It's also well known that sleeping and sitting in certain positions can make players prone to injuries both long term and short niggly type issues.

I think it was Billy Ingham who missed a game in the 70s as he'd injured himself getting out of bed.

I have just bought a mattress from them too - looked a good deal on QVC over the weekend.
Got 200 nights to test it.

Le got an Emma mattress around four years ago and it finished up sending it back before the end of the trial.
Hopefully their technology has improved.

When you look at the detail of the statement it is more likely a services based relationship rather than a cash payment one - we have a few of those (some just offering a discount on the services), if so it is part of a long tradition of such relationships in football

I got one a couple of years ago. It's one of the best purchases I ever made. Very very comfy

List of Utd partners, to give you an idea of how many potential ones there are and for a wide range of stuff.
Good to see Burnley are doing this sort of thing.

We have an Emma mattress. I'd recommend it. My sleep has been very good since getting it.

The world of football partnerships is getting bigger, especially at the top end.
One of the best freelance gigs I got was a few years ago when I was paid £750 to turn up at Manchester City and ask questions of a representative from a firm called Mundipharma who were being announced as 'Official Healthcare Product Partner of Manchester City Football Club' in Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
The realised that there wasn't much 'news' value in it so paid a load of journalists to turn up and give the impression that it was a big deal. I fired off 300 words afterwards to the PR firm looking after the deal but I don't think many outlets picked it up.
As for sleep, in cycling, a lot of the teams take their own mattresses, pillows, sheets etc to the Tour de France. I think Team Sky, as was, did it back in 2010 as one of Dave Brailsford's 'marginal gains'. And given the quality of some of the hotels the teams get thrown into on the Tour, I'm not surprised!

Is this regardless of what the player prefers? Some people like soft beds, some like hard beds, for example.
Besides, I suspect that a bigger influence on quality of sleep would be who you are sleeping with, not what you are sleeping on. And bearing in mind certain players' reported habits, an "official sleep partner" in that field might keep them out of trouble!

Do you really think Emma's mattresses who have jumped on board now we are in the Premier League are more relatable than local company GM Fitted Furniture who have pumped in tens of thousands over countless years? Get a grip.

I have enquired about my turn with Emma as my official sleep partner.
Unfortunately, for me, it is those expensive memberships first, then those with over 6000 points!
I said I was a shareholder.
Evidently, I can watch.

I was making the point that the Emma sleep partnership was a relatable partnership. i.e. a mattress provider being. sleep provider. Where as GM fitted furniture has no relatability to time- which they sponsor.
I was simply making the point that there is nothing strange in this partnership.
Not sure where your response came from because I haven't said anything negative about that company so not why sure you're being like you are.
