Just confirmed it’s a four year deal, had to guess at that when writing the article.

First time I’ve ever launched a signing article from a university lecture room in the middle of meeting on VAR.

They know my view on it, been to so many VAR meetings in the last few years.
Back to the subject matter though - I can’t say I know too much about O’Shea but he seems to have been popular with the Baggies fans.

Is he a better player than McNally I wonder.

Welcome aboard Dara.
Note, the announcement video us horrendous.

.....so long as VAR doesn’t cancel the signing!

Good question Stayingup. O’Shea has had more experience at a higher level including EPL & International appearances however that doesn’t necessarily make him a better player.

I think he will be a good signing, and it looks as if WBA have had to let him go relatively cheaply, having failed to be promoted.
I can only agree with Cirrus_Minor though - that is a truly rubbish announcement video.

We all know now that McNally can more than hold his own at Championship level after his loan at Coventry. Been suggestions that he will go out on loan again. O’Shea definitely more experienced with a season in the Premier League and his international games.

It does appear to be the end of Mcnally now that O'Shea has signed.

I was told some time ago that it was unlikely. Would be very surprising now if he did given the signings.

TBH I was worried we wouldn't get either TBH or Jordan B. To get one of them is excellent. Both would have been superb but we have to accept TBH will be playing elsewhere. Will always be very fondly remembered.

I know I'm getting oldet but I thought that video was very poor. Happy with the signing though and now I'm hoping for a couple of PL type midfielders and a couple of good strikers/wide men.

I got told we were close to signing him last summer but he decided to sign a new 3 year deal with WBA.

Welcome to the Turf Dara.
Looks like one of those solid pros that makes a good contribution on and off the field.
Over to VK to work his magic on him.

Video for our younger fans.
A good signing though, and more evidence of the pulling power of our manager.

This is from a West Brom fan I know:
I’m gutted matey
Great player . We have had him as a school boy and every year he just got better and better
Best of all is his brilliant attitude
He puts his body where it hurts but he can actually play football
It’s a great signing for you guys and a bargain price
Trust me Vincent knows a good centre Half when he sees one

Is it? I remember that wassup nonsense being about 25 years ago for a budweisser advert, and I thought it was naff and annoying then.

I disagree. I see the end of THB… another season for McNally on loan somewhere to mature and grow as a player and then who knows?
You are correct about VK knowing best tho, so whatever he does with McNally is fine by me.

Great signing, and if he's as good as is being suggested, then 7 mil seems a snip at todays prices.

If McNally gets a good season loan with a top 10 Championship side, he will then either provide competition to our own defenders or maybe realise a fee like we have just paid to O'Shea

Just got round to watching his signing video. Proper set of Turkey teeth on him! Let’s hope it distracts a few strikers when the floodlights radiate off his nashers!
