The 25 pass team goal
The individual dribble from the half way line
A lovely free kick
Overhead kick
A scruffy goal mouth scramble
Bullet header
Half way line goal

Plenty more etc

For me can’t beat a clean volley from outside the 18 yard box, Rooney v Newcastle, Scholes v Villa etc

HOWITZER !!!

Goals against B****** Rovers are always nice no matter how they go in.

Apart from that, an individual goal is normally my favourite. Something like Glen Little vs Bristol Rovers.

Robbie Blake vs Wolves is a great underrated individual goal, never gets spoken about.

Willie Irvine bullet header from the edge of the penalty area from an Alex Elder free-kick against Liverpool.

Volley or half volley, preferably at distance off the under side of the bar. But even a close range shot, penalty or header, off the underside of the bar does it for me.

One that comes out of the blue and takes your breath away with its impact. In other words, Pato v Reading! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=246301526555008

The greatest goal of all time

Martin Paterson v Reading, those are the types I like. When keepers have no chance despite seeing it a mile off

An opening goal scored by my nominated first goal scorer and bagging me bonus points on one of the various competitions run on this site during the football season. :D

Gotta be a volley/half volley for me

The more scrappy the better. Think Ashley Barnes smashing em home!

The 25 pass team goal for me. Barnes v Wigan was my favourite, closely followed by Hendrick v Everton.

Just anything with a piece of brilliance attached to it.

Burnley ones that come to memory first were

Steven Defour’s turn and run v Hull at Turf
Robbie Blakes thunderous volley v Utd.
Steven Defour’s scooped lob in the cup.

Theres hundreds more. But these pieces of brilliance make a goal beautifully unique.

I could have also mentioned:

Twines FK’s
And seemingly ANY goal Benny and Zaroury scored this season cutting in.

We have been spoilt this season gone.

I like a bullet header, but my favourite goals are loopy benders from the edge of the box and across and over the keeper.

My favourite ever Burnley goal was Adrian Heath v Chester… a ball over the top from David Eyres, the right footed pull down and looped shot into the top right corner by Inchy.

Also loved Bergkamp’s curled effort past Perez of Sunderland at Roker Park.

I loved Lowton’s against Palace. I might’ve just been the surprise of it though.

A winger beating a couple of defenders , getting to the by line crossing to a centre forward - or striker these day - met with a bullet header past the despairing dive of a goalkeeper.

After that a full on volley from outside the box into the top corner.

Agree, My all time favourite is the goal that means that the team I'm supporting/playing for has scored at least one more than the opposition when the final whistle has been blown.

Tony Yeboahs thunderstrike v Liverpool. Hit the crossbar, down onto line, up into roof of the net.

Headers and volleys, the hardest to control. The further out, the more audacious the better.

I used to love lingerie shot, top corners.

Nowadays I much prefer a great cross and header. Barnes first against Rovers or Wood's disallowed from McNeil Cross.

A goal that absolutely sucks the life out of the other team when they think they are on the ascendancy.

Think Mike Conroy at Northampton for the winner in 91-92. Northampton pressing for a winner after getting back on level terms then a quick counter attack when they’ve committed too many players forward and the ball is slammed home in front of the away fans to send them mental.

That guy with the crutch must have forgot he had a broken foot for those couple of minutes after that went in.

Any Burnley goal.

Any goal at all though. I've never been a scorer of spectacular goals when I was young, nor nowadays as a walking footballer. A typical goal for me is like the one I scored today, someone else shot, it was blocked, someone else blasted it and I stuck my foot out and diverted the shot which was going wide into the far corner. Great goal!!! My 41st of the calendar year

Volleys from distance every time for me. Crouch v City. Scholes did it a few times. Neves v Derby. Van Persie v Charlton.

Burnley wise - Hendrick v Bournemouth is one of my favourites in recent years.

I know he's a boring ex b****** but I love this one that Shearer scored for England. There's somthing about the fact that he elects to just smash it in the top corner despite all the time and space he had. I appreciate the confidence/arrogance it takes to have that kind of belief in your ability and maybe that makes this one particularly memorable for me.

Dwight McNeil against West Ham on the Turf.

A low cross from one side which goes right across to the opposite winger, who scores from a tight angle - ideally but not exclusively on the stretch and up high into the roof of the net.

Always had a liking for goals, usually on a heavy pitch, where a centre forward runs onto a high, forward ball, heads it on to himself, and then smashes the ball past a dazed ‘keeper.
An example is Billy Hamilton’s second(and Burnley’s 4th) against Spurs, at White Hart Lane in 1983.

Goals with great individual skill involved ...

Steven Defour's take-down, run and shot v Hull ..
Archie Gemmell's dribble and cool finish v Holland in '78 ..
Andy Payton's " Cruyff turn " and finish v Cambridge Utd in the promotion season ..
Frank Worthington's classic for Bolton v Leicester ( 1976 ? ) ...

Failing that, a thunderbolt that pings in off the bar or post ....

Diving bullet header.

We don’t see many of those anymore as everyone is taught to get to the bye line and do a pullback.
