Surrey v Lancashire
Lancs are going to struggle to avoid a first defeat of the seaon tomorrow.
Currently about 30 runs ahead with six second innings wickets remaining.
This is what happens when the opposition put on 130 for the tenth wicket.

Re: Surrey v Lancashire
I’ve been watching it since coming home from work. It has been frustrating because as soon as one player looks to get in, he gets out to a bad shot. That said, Surrey are an excellent side.

Re: Surrey v Lancashire
To be honest, Surrey also threw away a number of wickets with bad shots when their players seemed set and this is why we had them at 230 for 9. Our bowling had not been brilliant but we picked up wickets, however, just what we were doing when the last pair were at the wicket is open to conjecture.
We didn't really look interested in getting them out!
I totally agree about the frustration whilst watching our batting display. Only one winner as far as I can see ---sadly.

Ps. To say Williams was in as night watchman, that 61 is a super effort.
Re: Surrey v Lancashire
208 to win for Surrey. Not a bad effort given where we were.

Re: Surrey v Lancashire
Another smashing day's cricket. I really thought that, when Burns pulled off the catch to dismiss Mitchell early this morning, we would really struggle.
Credit to the team for digging in and doubling the score after that wicket fell. Great to watch Bailey bowling this evening and here's hoping that he can pick up a fifth wicket tomorrow to match his 5 for which he got at the Oval in 2018. Good to say that the result is in the balance, provided that our bowlers don't lose the plot as they did in the first innings.

Just seen on twitter, Worcs fans complaining about Josh Tongue leaving their County.
Moving to Lancs next season apparently.

Seen this article earlier.
Problem with signings like this is if he becomes a regular then he will hardly be available for Lancs and then they still need another bowler. It is almost like at County level you should sign very good county players who won't be picked for Tests to have a good season

Surrey are now 68/7. Wicket each for Williams & Bailey this morning.

Great result and performance.
Listening to the Surrey commentary yesterday, they expected an easy win - Lancs 100 runs short??
And good to see traitor Clark out as the final wicket!

Re: Surrey v Lancashire
What a good win that was after being put in to bat.
OUr bowling this morning was really good once again and they just followed on from yeaterday.
I am so pleased to have been proved wrong in my post at the end of the second day.

Agreed, I honestly thought they were being far too disrespectful prior to Surrey's 2nd innings:Hbclaret007 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 11:47 amGreat result and performance.

"This will be a 6th win of the season for Surrey"
"Lancs might pick up 3 or 4 wickets - but I'm honestly not sure where they're coming from"
etc...
Great performance from Lancs!

Not heard them this morning but I thought they were appalling - the way they were so dismissive of Lancs was shocking.Hbclaret007 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 11:47 amGreat result and performance.
