Venkys have put more money in than Walker did, it is time the deluded clowns starting showing some appreciation to their owners.

Got to be very diluted now?

As long as they just keep plugging holes, rather than invest in a future, we should just look on and appreciate.
I can only guess the Venkys are writing it off against their tax bill back in India. When they finally decide to cut their losses Rovers are doing a Bury.

It still hasn't sunk in yet with some of the thickos that if there aint no Venkys there aint no Rovers.
(Still rumblings of a boycott now and then)
Surely this is a bubble that will inevitably burst soon.

Yes they are. They'd be where Bury are, or even worse, if it wasn't for their owners.

There is always talk of a boycott unless they are in the top 6 or playing Man Utd or Liverpool at home in the cup

They are very lucky to have owners who are prepared to keep funding as we know a lot would have pulled the plug.

They really are amongst the most pampered ungrateful bunch aren't they
First walker pumped his pension in then the walker trust wrote a huge chunk of debt off only for the Venkys to pop up and carry on the money funding circus
And still the clowns whinge and complain because all is not rosey in the garden
'we want our roverrrrs back'
well stump up a few hundred million and you can have your lower darwen hole back
Not going to happen is it you simpletons.
Oh well never mind

I was in Northern India this time last year.
I’d suggest Venky’s tax money could be better used improving the lives of the poor people scratching a living out there, rather than propping up BRFC

No one has
One thing is for sure is that they now count as "good" owners in a football sense, and I think most Rovers fans see it that way now
They can compete in the championship and have a pretty good recruitment system (but a very bad record in letting players go on frees) - its pretty much the best a club their size (and ours btw) can hope for when the premier league money runs out

Venkys are the only thing keeping Rovers afloat but before we say Rovers fans ought to be grateful we perhaps ought to consider that it's also Venkys who took a pretty successful Premier League club and turned them into this bloated monstrosity that will fold as soon as Venkys go.

I absolutely revel in Rovers’ current plight, but it could well easily be us in that position.
And they’re still only a promotion away from being able to sort it out.

I asked my mate who's British-Indian whether it rings true that that Venky's persist with Blackburn because writing it off as a bad job is culturally shameful. He said it's much more likely that owning an English football team is something they can chuck into conversation to impress people, and that none of their crowd in India will know or care about it beyond face value. "Oh soccer, yeah, me and the family have an English football team, you know how it is" sort of thing.

Rovers are a lower mid table team. They can't score goals and now Cameron Dias has done one this plight will get worse. Two or three decent players doesn't make for a decent team. There are a lot of quality sides recently relegated and Sheff Wed and Stoke imo will be top 6 contenders next season

Much like the many complainants on here said and indeed still say about the Mike Garlic regime. Then again, the 'clown' appellation might be better laid on the individuals who buy most football clubs... all that aggravation and in most cases, little chance of seeing a profit on your investment, why would you bother?

I don’t think the Venky’s are any better or worse than any other “ long distance owners “ BRFC is a small bauble to them and they simply write of the debt /assign it against other profits etc .While the prem carrot is there and Rovers remain far to cheap to sell , I guess they’ll keep propping them up.

I hope they stay afloat, I hope they get it sorted. I genuinely do.
It is a brilliant football rivalry, even more so when we are beating them.
To want them to suffer and fail defies my logic. From the youngsters in the club /ticket shop, to the kitman, these are all livelihoods that are potentially at stake, which is much bigger than football.
Yes I want to keep beating them, but not into oblivion.

I'm fairly sure that even with promotion to the Premier League that rovers would still be subject to FFP, though I'm happy to be shown otherwise.

I think the Walker family sold at the right time. The club was £25m in debt, and were always spending more than they had, but managed to find a player to sell here and there such as Duff, RSC etc to plug the gap. By the time Venky’s bought them they’d pretty much run out of talent to sell and it looked a matter of when, not if, they’d be relegated.
Their mistakes mainly happened when they dropped and they poorly invested in players and management.
I’m not grumbling though. I’m rather delighted. I hope that debt continues to grow and Venky’s continue to support it until it hits 1/2 billion. There’s no way they’d write that off, and I’m not sure they could afford to.

Funny: watching them struggle in the league below us.
Not funny: doing a Bury.
Football is better for having rivalries.

I only half agree with this- I don't want them to go bust and do a Bury but now we've pumped them several times over the last few years and won a title in their back yard I'd be more than happy to see them down in league 2 and playing Stockport away.

Don't think i quite want them to fold, but as has been said on here before, they...or thousands of them....wanted us to lose the Orient game and crash and burn.
So whilst not particularly wanting it, i certainly wouldn't shed any tears if the worst happened for them.
In fact, i wouldnt give a flying one.

In an ideal would they would fold and build a big sports direct outlet in place of the ground, that way the towns finest could still head there frequently

What the Rovers fans don't seem to understand is that they had to drop their wages somehow. Their wages were something like 150% when they got relegated and they didn't have the same parachute payments then. It's taken them a number of years to get those wages down which meant they had to sign lesser players.

Their wages still exceed income, 177% in the 2021 accounts.
They should be down to 120% ish with the number of players who've left this summer etc.
