Catching up with some family history research, came across this joke from the Burnley Express, 29 November 1935:
Teacher "Who won the last battle in the War of the Roses?"
Pupil (an enthusiastic Clarets fan) "Please sir, it was a draw."
Teacher "Whatever do you mean by a draw?"
Pupil "I watched it at Turf Moor last Saturday!"
Just checked the Clarets results, the reference is to the home game against Bradford Park Avenue, Saturday 16 November 1935, the result was 1-1. Made me smile.

I'm old enough to remember the joke about the little boy going to a match for the first time and saying "oh look, it's in colour".

I like the one where WHU think Rice is worth over £100m

Even funnier is Arsenal wanting to offer £105m!
