Brsk broadband

Hi all

Brsk are installing fibre broadband where I live which means an alternative to virgin who I have used for years as they were the only provider that could provide speeds in excess of 100mb. I currently have 350mb broadband at £35 but Brsk are offering 1gb broadband for £30. Has anyone used them and can recommend them?

I don’t use BRSK but it is interesting that they say they use the Open Reach network and, if that’s the case, why have you only had the option of Virgin until now? Also, if using the OpenReach network then you will have the same issues as everyone else if the network goes down. As for speeds, pretty good if you can get 1GB over the OR network for that price…..

Can’t edit…just seen I read the wrong thing and it’s their own network…

My next door neighbour has it and says it's really good.
I think it's fibre to the property (FTTP), he's getting around 850 mb/sec.

Had it for 2 months now, 600meg ul and 500meg dl minimum whenever I have tested. Customer service was excellent, they had to comeback the day after first installation appt as wasn't flat roof trained and they hadn't been told. All handled perfectly.

Was with BT but starting my online stream meant I needed to upgrade and a friend had a referral code so we got £75 amazon vouchers too. Gone from paying £33 a month to £16 for 6 months then it's upto £32 for remaining 18 months!

If you want my referral code let me know!

Without wishing to hijack, can someone be kind enough to tell me how to test?

I’m sure my service is dropping at certain times and I’d like to confirm it. I have seen the brsk deals and I’d certainly be interested if it stopped my buffering issue.

Easiest way is probably to download an app eg Ookla or Analiti and then just click to run a speed test. Useful to test at different times of day/days of week. Generally "PING" should be low and download speed as high as you can get.

Google speed test. No apps or ads.

I stream gaming on Twitch, Apex, Rocket League and DayZ mostly but do a retro night once a week too!

Couldn't have done it without this Internet!

Twitch.tv/gboyley

My email address is in my bio/about me section if anyone wants to contact me for a referral code to see if you have BRSK available!

Setup a quality monitor here

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadban ... ng/quality

It'll keep monitoring your connection for dropouts until your IP address changes, which in general is quite infrequently even with a dynamic IP. I'd advise everyone to do it, as it gives you ammunition to shoot at your ISP if you are disputing your connection quality, given most problems are with the crap routers given out rather than the connection itself.
