Presuming this will be to replace BPF ? ( if he goes ) as surely we’d need a “prem ready keeper” ? Ben Benson( rovers keeper coach ) brought this lad on brilliantly at Carlisle . I remember watching him about 12 when CUFC academy were playing Man Utd academy ( my son was CUFC u9 keeper ) and thinking bloody hell he’s better than the Utd keeper who were way ahead in all age groups . He left that season and his family uprooted to Manchester . Great to see these grassroots to prem stories .

The implication is that he's agreed in principle, or possibly his agent has agreed in detail, but nothing is going to be signed or finalised until after the tournament. Which is normal.

I presume buybacks are of limited value because the player can still reject terms. A buyback clause will be contractually binding between the two clubs, but I don't think it can be binding on the player, neither under FIFA rules nor in law.

the way City have structured their deal with Southampton for Lavia was the buy back essentially means they have the right to match the highest bidder for him, I suspect they have done the same rather than give a specific figure

It's not automatic, it's done on the basis of prejudging something there & then with an educated idea of how somebody will progress, you can't be 100% sure but some people will have a fair idea whether to implement some sort of insurance or whether not to bother.

Just watched the YouTube package of James Trafford... He certainly looks quick and quite brave, putting his head, arms and legs amongst his opponents boots.

Looking forward to seeing him play for us.
