That Man Utd game could be a messy one, usually makes for a good atmosphere and Utd are always loud

Disappointed with the Forest change as I can’t go now due to work.

Annoyed about Forest. Been there a few times for night matches and feels like every time it is a nightmare to get back from. Always roadworks on the M1 or M62.

Seemed a strange one to me that they didn't move it to the Sunday but then I realised that's going to be the reserve date for the Royal London final so if it rained on the Saturday they would be back with the same problem on the following day.

Booked my flights for city, united, spurs (and taken a gamble on Liverpool as waiting until nearer isn't really an option)

Oh aye

Some Luton fans think it will be moved to Burnley, hence it not being on TV...their first home game would then be west ham....which is on TV

I think it will be moved - likely to be some news during next week I'm told.

Looking at these fixtures changes and the big announcement on Sky Sports News and rolling ticker, it strikes me we are not even featured on Sky Post the Manchester City game which is a bit of a surprise.

Personally that's not a bad thing, it just seems a bit odd given all the hurrah of Vincent Kompany and Football League Champions.

Very disappointing that Nottingham Forest were awarded an home game on the weekend of another sporting event in the city. I seem to remember back in the 90s fixtures being moved for the Nottingham clubs because of the goose fair?? Surely a bit of forward planning would have helped, pretty sure Forest away was a tick box for many Burnley fans this season.

Will be a pain that, as I'm in Edinburgh for the festival that weekend so was glad we got drawn away

I’m getting married in Italy on the day of the now rearranged Villa game. The game starts at 3pm Italian time and I get married at 5pm. I really didn’t need the additional anxiety that afternoon :|

Bill Shankly was once asked if it was true that he took his wife Nessie to a match at Accrington on their wedding anniversary. He dismissed it immediately and pointed out that he would never have got married during the football season. He then confirmed it was Nessie's birthday.

It's easy really - you just ensure they have an away game that weekend

A bit naffed off with the Forest game on Monday can't make that because of work but I've been plenty of times, I'll miss the Villa at home game because I'm at the Edinburgh military tattoo and won't get back until 6pm Sunday but that's the Premier league I suppose, probably only about 20% of the games ko at 3pm Saturday

I hope it’s not at The Turf.

Vincent has said 'no' to the idea of stopping the fixture. He wants to play them when their pitch should be pristine, not in the middle of Winter.

Might not be up to him if their ground isn’t ready. Where else could they play? Another premier league ground?

Would be postponed and a new date would then have to be found

Bit of a joke that it has to be moved tbh.

That means we likely have to travel to Luton midweek, which already isn’t ideal, putting us at a disadvantage compared to the team we then face at the weekend, who probably won’t have a mid-weeker. As well, we will now have a 2 week gap between games as the season starts, which is hardly good for building momentum.

Can’t see Kompany being happy.

I’d prefer that option to the “swap” we had for the Liverpool game

I’ve now booked a weekend away for that weekend and swapping it to TM would mean a missed game

No chance of it being played at another ground such as Franchise?

You'd think when fixtures are planned before the start of the season they would try and find out when games might clash with certain dates and events.

But it seems they just go ahead without even looking at what might be taking place elsewhere.

My understanding is that we can veto any plan to move it to Turf Moor.
If it should be moved away from Kenilworth Rd then that would probably be to our advantage. First Premier League fixture at Kenilworth will be a bit of a cauldron I would think.

If it’s postponed then they could rearrange it in the middle of winter? (Against what Leisure says VK wants) Or do we get a say in that.

In other news, just booked trains for Newcastle. £27 with a rail card. Bargain in this day and age.

If it is postponed, the Premier League will want it playing as soon as possible. It would mean a Tuesday or Wednesday night but there are a lot free when the European games are on.

That's a good point we hadn't considered - it was always going to be the case that one of them was scheduled to be at home. Strangely, there isn't a Premier League on TV on the Monday night we now play.

Re. The Forest fixture, have only just clocked it’s been moved to the Monday (noted due to cricket) & not on TV, despite Sky not having a game on that Monday night. Any idea why that is?
