Except for Time, which is obviously not timeless by definition!

It was 50 years this March that Dark Side of the Moon was released.
Phenomenal band great music.

Saw them live in Feb. 1971. They charged £1500 then but a member of the student union knew Nicky Mason quite well and they played for £750.

I Have had comfortably numb as my ring tone for years. I could never tire of Gilmour.
The only band that can move me to tears. The second solo with your headphones on is phenomenal.

"Kicking around the moments that make up a dull day, fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way". Agreeing with IPA some of their lyrics are timeless genius.

It's actually been a great day watching sport all over the place and a bit of Floyd with a couple of beers rounds it off nicely.

Saw them at the Hippodrome Birmingham when they played Wish you were here in full. The first time anyone had heard it. Superb.

I was watching “A delicate sound of thunder” suddenly there was thunder and lightening and I lost my sky signal, very annoying.

Favourite albums in this order -

1) Animals (Ha ha charade you are)
2) Meddle (mainly for Echoes)
3) Wish You Were Here ( Shine On You Crazy Diamond )
4) Obscured Bt Clouds (Gilmour and Wright's harmonising)
5) Dark Side (because the lunatic is inside my head)
6) The Wall (used to be higher but I sickened myself with it)
7) Umaguma (Had an amazing mushroom trip to Grantchester Meadows)

Didn't warm to The Final Cut at all, struggled post Waters era even though I much prefered Gilmour and Wright's vocals, and the Barret era was just too psychedelic proggy for me.

Exactly the same re the first two. I would put the wall third though. I just wish meddle lasted longer but as you say worth it for echoes alone.

Been a fan since late 60s as my username probably suggests. Not sure how I would rank the albums though since my opinion changes every week, but Piper at the gates of dawn will be up there along with the likes of Dark Side. Wall and Wish you were here.

We have a dome planetarium theatre at the museum where I work, and recently started showing the official Dark Side of the Moon 50th anniversary show, it's very well done.

Saw them do Animals live at Bingley Hall in Stafford, with a 360 degree PA set up. That was some trip.

All opinions, of course, but for me Meddle is an absolute masterpiece.
Closely followed by TDSOTM.

But I could listen to them all day, whichever album.

First saw them at the Hyde Park free concert back in 1970 and whenever I play Atom Heart Mother, it takes me back to that memorable day. Think Meddle and Saucerful of Secrets are my favourites but I have a distinct leaning to Relics when I play it.

Atom Heart Mother for me, mainly for the first side.

A neighbour is a very keen Floyd fan - his claim to fame is nearly being run over by Gilmour!. He gave me a bootleg copy of a recording of the first side - Atom Heart Mother - made from the Cardogon Hall concert in 2008 involving Mun Floyd, Geesin and Gilmour (despite him being dismissive of the song).

Echoes from Meddle is also superb.

There are BBC Sessions 1970 and 1971 with versions of both these songs. And of course Echoes was superbly done Live at Pompei.

Thanks for posting this buddy..carrying on the PF fest this morning listening to their best album.."The Division Bell"...quite simply a masterpiece.

I was just about to say that Division Bell is their best album for me. I've almost worn out my copy by playing it so often.

Meddle, DSOTM The Wall all great albums usually with a track or two I don't get but Division Bell I really like every track.

I was at that gig bud. Great gig but a really crap place. Second time I saw them. First was 74 at Earls Court (£7.50) doing two sets, older stuff (marvellous version of Echoes) then Dark Side of the Moon. Third time was Knebworth where they played Wish You Were Here before it was ever released, with different titles for the songs. Fantastic version of what was to become Have a Cigar complete with Roy Harper on vocals (he was on the bill).
Such a shame that Waters and Gilmour fell out.

The Wall my fave album then wish you were here. Fave Waters solo is Pros and cons.

Just watched the Wham documentary on Netflix. They recorded one of their albums at Chateau Miraval, where PF put down tracks for The Wall. It was most recently owned by Brad Pitt.
