New home shirt labelled at £76

Mentioned previously about the inflated prices. The new home shirt which I've just got from the club shop is actually labelled up at £76. The label is covering the original label that shows £55. I wonder if there was temptation to try and sell them for £76.

I don’t know but I wouldn’t even be paying £55, total rip off.

No socks with the infant’s home kit, either, and no way to actually purchase socks that will fit.

Lots of replica shirts now are above the £60 mark and the Adidas and Nike for an ‘elite’ club are approaching £80-100

I think ours will be one of the cheaper ones in the Premier League next season but we have seemed to taken hikes in price each season now after having them at £40 for what seemed like ages.

The Adidas and Nike shirts are expensive but the material usually has a bit more about it than the Umbro ones. Bought last season's shirt because it's the best in about thirty years but rarely wear it.

I know I was a bit disappointed with that I've just bought my grandson one and noticed no socks when we got home, last year price was £40 with socks this year £45 without, label underneath said £52 but I think they must of changed thier minds at the £52 price.

It should be noted that for many ("top") clubs, there are two shirts available.
The "match shirt" is the same fit and finish as the shirts the players wear.
The "stadium shirt" is almost identical (I understand) except it's cut to fit the less... athletic... average supporter.
The former is usually tens of pounds more expensive...

Correct. United’s new one is retailing at £80 for the replica and £110 for the authentic version.

55 quid for a shirt hat will last at least a season or 47 quid to watch Leeds for 90 minutes

One clearly has a far fairer value and it sure isn't Leeds

I’d gladly pay extra for “comfort” fit rather than just a bigger size that then looks like a tent. :)

Juniors we're £45 each, which I thought was steep, but Mrs ct_u nearly hit the roof when she read the tag after we got home

I'm currently in Salou

We visited the Barcelona store.

The new supporters home/away adult shirt is just short of 80 euros without name decals.
(The away shirt is quite smart)

There is also a player shirt option virtually identical, bar some slightly different colour shading at 158 euros
(twice the price)

Crazy money....

There is a simple answer to the annual shirt rip off. Wear one for two seasons.
With last season’s iconic shirt you could wear that one for several seasons and it would be like wearing a Fred Perry polo. Still stylish and in fashion.

Looks like it is retailing at £55 but don't worry. If you peel off the sticky label to reveal what's under it, take to the till and they will happy charge you £76, so you know you haven't been duped.

The original post stated

''is actually labelled up at £76. ''The label is covering the original label that shows £55''

so peeling off the sticky label would reveal £55.
