More evidence of the thorough preparation for our return to the PL. Three really good overseas challenging fixtures-well done for the organisation

To clear any confusion, this is not being played at Benfica’s SOL.

Yep it's a cool ground just up past the monastery. Good view over that down to the river.

No confusion - clearly states in the article that it's being played at Estádio do Restelo, I even made sure it was on the top line of the article.

Confusion not directed at you CT, was directed at other posters who could have been confused, only trying to help, UTC.

No. It was on Twitter this morning early on. They also predicted the Benfica game, so no reason to think it’s not right. Doesn’t say where it’ll be played tho.

Not confirmed - doesn't say it's not happening, but definitely not confirmed as yet.

A shame we aren‘t having a home friendly. 2 seasons on the trot no home friendly to go to. Is Kompany against having home friendlies at the Turf? Suppose it worked well for us last year!

This could end up on the transfer thread as Burnley sign Portugese Giant Ben Feeker.
Tourist area. Torre de Belem, Jeronimo monastery, famous pastel de nata shop.

It's a nice little ground in a very nice area of Lisbon.
Italy trained there during Euro 2004 and unless it has changed it is almost all uncovered.
Jose Mourinho played for Belenenses reserves during his short and modest playing career.

Was it as good as modest?

Yes. It is in Belem. Nice little ground. Southwest Lisbon, on the river. Some decent restaurants and a good value hotel, or it was pre-Covid. Some cheap beer to be had ten minutes walk west in earthier bars.

I've learned today that we've played Belenenses before but I'm not aware of a game against Benfica.

sadly I won't be able to go, but if anyone is looking for somewhere decent to stay for the Benfica game - there's a hotel just down the road from that stadium called the Geronimos 8 - stayed there a couple of times with work and it's a decent place, not too pricey. The Belem area is really nice too, best bakery in lisbon too just around the corner, worth the queues! God, I'm getting old!
