While I on the other hand, think it's a smart move: Despite the slating BPF gets on here I think he's a decent/solid keeper, certainly at Championship Level and while we've just signed two apparently outstaninding prospects, only time will tell if those were equally smart moves. If those two fail to fulfill their potential, most especially if we find ourselves back in the Championship as a result, then having BPF on the back burner, ready to step back in, could save us a chunk of money when we'd be less able than now to afford it. Possibly even with a recall clause for next January... just in case?

Not sure it's a good financial deal for Burnley, unless we are getting a decent loan fee.
Or unless the "+ after the contract year denotes there is an option for an extra year" clause when his contract expires in 2024 is in the club's favour and means we can sell him then.

My mate is an Aarhus fan, he says their goalie is good and he's not convinced BPF will get in the team.

People rapidly forget how highly regarded BPF was prior to Marcelo Bielsa taking over at Leeds. He broke through at 21, looked fantastic, then Bielsa started saying in public that he'd have dropped him if the other keepers weren't injured, then benched him soon as he had someone else available.
Dyche & Mercer likely had to undo a lot of damage especially to his confidence, but then he was number 3 to 2 England keepers and never going to get a game. Then just as Pope goes we undergo a total style shift and he's back out in the cold. He's a decent keeper who lost his way in part through stuff outside his control, and I think given a decent run of games would still make for a top Championship, maybe lower end Prem keeper- he's just not the ball playing sweeperkeeper that's in vogue.

The only keeper they have is 38 so maybe that’s why they wanted another

It's probably for the best really, he hasn't really broken through. Not really expected to overshadow Pope but I suppose the writing was on the wall for him when he wasn't picked above Muric. Good luck to him, I hope he is successful in Denmark.

Think he has made a good move for a fresh start and to challenge himself. Never really worked out here

Disappointed not to get a fee for him (assuming the loan fee is just contributing to his wages), but it was presumably the best offer on the table.
Good luck to him, I hope he gets some regular game time!

Unlucky slip. No real option but to foul after that.

In his interview after the game he said he thought it would be a yellow card and a penalty.

Better off just taking the goal?
Instead of playing most of the game with 10, reserve keeper and being suspended for 3 games.

The worst thing about that video is that the attacking player failed to put the ball in the net from a yard out before Baileys’s grappling began.

I have a vague recollection of the double jeopardy rule being it has to be a genuine attempt to play the ball though and that looked suspiciously like not that…..or an attempted rape

I doubt any player would see it that way.

I think that would be considered a "professional foul" and so a one game ban, but I guess it could be considered to be violent conduct, in which case 3.

When van Dijk recently took out a Isak just outside the area he got a straight red but it was said that if he'd done that in the penalty area it would be a yellow plus pen..
Anyway, could not BPF actually have tackled the forward?
