I have to say, it’s better than I first gave it credit for, but I still don’t wish to buy it along with home kit. Hoping the 3rd kit is better.

Looks to be about 20 odd if you look at the far right hand side in the bottom corner.

Are we sure this is a friendly and we haven’t somehow qualified for a European competition?
Never seen a friendly played at that pace before

Townsend has been excellent. Al-Dakhil and Muric too.
Re: Benfica - v - Burnley MATCH THREAD
Antwerp are Belgian champions. Won it with almost the last kick. Genk came top in the regular season but then the league splits. But agree, some good teams to play against.ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:27 pmBenfica were Champions League quarter finalists last season and were knocked out by Inter.
VK has lined up some tough assignments to get the boys tuned up. Genk were Belgian Champions last season as well.

100%. Way too similar.jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:30 pmThink he’s done well but he needs a more mobile forward buzzing off him (I.e, Amdouni). Jay and him don’t work, too similar for me.
When Twine and Townsend are the paciest attackers around him, yeah it's not going to help. Benson, Zaroury, Amdouni, or (with baited breath) Tella would definitely help- same reason I wanted us to field Weghorst/Vydra/Cornet more in the PL last time. Be curious how Foster or Obafemi would work alongside him too.
I'd also like to know how Redmond links up with him given they spent half a season together at Besiktas.

Great colour for an away kit… the ‘printer ram out of ink’ stripe is still an eyesore for me. Although I have slightly warmed to itLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:33 pmYeah, another one here who might have to change his mind about the kit

This is really good stuff. A very stern test and we've looked up to the challenge.

Hold firm. Don't buckle. It's still a bad top with a giant's skid mark on it.

Yes agree, I see them as being about 4th-7th in our Premier League, I don’t see them being at the City, United, Liverpool level but they are a very good side.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:27 pmPushed inter close in the champions league 1/4 finals like!
They’re no mugs, not to mention have played more preseason games and are used to playing/training in this heat
I don’t really worry too much about Champions League rounds, the seeding system makes it all a bit easy for some and hard for others, they were a bit lucky they got Juventus in free-fall in the groups as well as PSG, so only one tough side in hindsight, but no doubt they did well last year nonetheless.

Weghorst off, Jay stays on.
Wrong way round for me, Weghorst's held it up and linked better. He's not been a goal threat but Jay's been anonymous.
Taylor on for Dodgson too.

Jay's starting position is deeper than he's EVER played before. He's playing Brownhill's role, no wonder he doesn't look his best.

Whose Taylor replaced?
Re: Benfica - v - Burnley MATCH THREAD
Lot of their success came down the right. Come on Charlie. Sort them out.

Only 2 times I saw Jay in the 1st half was when he was sitting on the floor after winning 2 soft free-kicks

He shouldn't be regarding fitness, his season didn't really end- he returned to training late due to international duty but United were still playing when we reported back.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 9:40 pmDon’t forget wout is about 4/5 weeks behind most of the squad in regards to fitness and training
Will be behind in terms of training/linkup I suppose though. And I suppose we want to give Jay minutes to ensure he's all the way recovered from his injury.
