Looks very similar to the shadow marks made on a window when a bird hits it ...

Are we sure it was a Kamikaze and not just a sh1t pilot, From that silhouette the landing gear looks to have been down and there's surprisingly little damage considering kamikaze planes were usually loaded with explosives.

Yeah, its a Ka-51 "Sonia" - it has fixed landing gear

Massively out classed by 1945 it has to be said, and its a miracle it got as far as it did (it was obsolete at the start of the war)

Kamikaze planes didn't need retractable landing gear. (Or any landing gear at all, in fact. just taking-off gear.)

I don't think all WW2 planes had retractable landing gear, did they?

Most did, only the early planes didn't - just made them far too slow and vulnerable

I thought the same thing. Are they sure it wasn’t an Albatross!

The Junkers JU87 Stuka was a fine example a plane with fixed landing gear.

In it's role as a dive bomber it was probably without equal but pretty useless at anything else.

Not only fixed undercarriage but a bi-plane too.
