If they say they're going to be at the game on Friday, I wonder if they will be doing one of their videos pre-game on the pitch....

Makes me wince watching stuff like that!
Saying that, if it benefits the club, increases our profile and ultimately helps us on the pitch - crack on, dude!

Huge news for for the club. As a younger member of UTC I have grown up watching Dude Perfect videos.
If you think JJ and Kealia have brought exposure to the club, you haven’t seen anything yet…

They've announced themselves as 'co-owners'
Have they financially invested in the club with the idea of a profit share of the merchandising or something?
I assumed it was more contra-deal, a quid-pro-quo type of arrangement

This was unexpected but it’s going to push the clubs name/brand right out there with a younger generation of potential fans
Will definitely get some shirts sold and as we all know, that’s the important bit

would somebody be kind enough to link the actual tweet - the above link just gives a random selection of tweets from down the years to those of us who do not have accounts
As for the news - there can be no doubt the commercial profile of the club is growing significantly with the involvement of Dude Perfect and this coupled with the huge efforts of Watt family is very positive on that front

The Language is odd... Ownership Group... sounds like a fancy name you'd give to a Time Share.
Is this what they mean by an investment fund? Do you get lots and lots and lot of people, business owners, influencers and investors to put money into a pot or hawk BFC online and give them titles as 'Co-Owners' - not directors or become members of the board...
Or is that an Amercian Term, like 'Partner' in the legal and financial sectors?

I guess they "pay" something, be that cash and/or services, and receive some amount of equity. Will probably remain opaque to us mere mortals but such is life.

The ownership group is a partnership - we now have 15 names associated with it but I believe there are well of 20 in it now, possibly even the new director announced last week
http://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboar ... =2&t=70954
This kind of grouping is normal in American Sports Ownership and we certainly see it at Liverpool and Chelsea
We also know (thanks to documentation filed in Jersey) that the partnership is structured in a way that Pace and ALK maintain absolute control however diluted their own shareholding in the ownership group becomes

Hard to say - I am assuming the Dude Perfect logo on the Children's shirts was a paid sponsorship
Though it doesn't really matter if owners are not putting money into the club
What really matters is if the owners are contributing to moving the club forward on and off the field - and if the Dude Perfect chaps promote like the Watts have done, that could as others have said be transformative commercially - which is huge for the club and its long held need to improve the ratio's of revenues aside from TV.

Are owners not allowed to do low levels of paid sponsorship? Just thinking of Venky's down the road sponsoring the shirt sleeve to get their cash into the club.

Welcome to Turf Moor, Dude Perfect. Welcome to the Burnley "ownership group."
The ownership corporate structure: ALK Capital (US) and Velocity Sports Partnership (US) always implied the intention to bring in "co-owners" into Velocity Sports Partnership alongside the management group led by Alan Pace and his colleagues in ALK Capital. (It's a very standard US investment structure).
These aims are mentioned several times on the "ALK Capital takeover" thread.
I'd expect the new co-owners who are announced include those who add something to the club by announcing their co-ownership. I'd also expect that there will be other "co-owners" i.e. investors in Velocity Sports Partnership (US) who will tick the box "no publicity."
Well done, again, Alan Pace and colleagues in growing Burnley Football Club.
Exciting times.

For the financially astute on the board...could these minority investors be the reason we are able to sign so many players.
By this I mean say we have recruited 5 investors this summer all investing 2 million each. This would then fund 5 signings and pay that yearly payment on them. With the added exposure attracting more investors which would allow us to do the same again next window.
Is this a viable business model? Could this be what we are doing?

That would require money being put into the club - the only ways that could have happened over the summer is if part/all of the loan CVHL have from the club is repaid, or the ownership group have loaned money to the club.

Yes, even though we don't knowing anything about each individual investment, the ALK Capital/Velocity Sports Partnership financial model is set up to attract new investors. There are a number of factors, but let's start from what has happened since the beginning of 2022 (putting aside events through 2020 and 2021 because these were the covid-19 years): (1) BFC as a football team in the relegation zone; (2) Sean Dyche leaves the club; (3) Mission to Burnley documentary commissioned; (4) Vincent Kompany appointed as new manager; (5) wholesale change in playing squad, old experienced players depart, new younger players signed; (6) new playing style - both successful and great to watch; (7) 101 points, top of the Championship and return to the Premier League; (8) Vincent Kompany conversations about also looking for improvement and winning. All of these things make the club more attractive to investors. Announcement of some high profile investors, JJ Watt, Kealia Watt, DudePerfect. Very likely the new director will also be an investor.
Alan Pace and his colleagues will keep on trying to "grow the club." They will address any set backs and anything that isn't working. They will look to improve on the things that have worked but can also be improved on.

Hi CP, there's a lot of scope in "
the only ways." We may or may not see indications of the CVHL loan being reported as having been reduced when the financial accounts for the year ended 31st July 2023 are released in April 2024. Of course, if there has been any reduction in the balance outstanding before 31st July 2023 this will be shown on the balance sheet as at that date. If any reductions occur after 31st July 2023 I'm unsure whether this would have to be reported in "events after the balance sheet date." If the club have any choice (some accounting disclosures can be discretionary) my inclination is that it wouldn't be disclosed until the accounts for the year ended 31st July 2024 are published in April 2025. Whatever is and isn't disclosed, we will see the growth of the club as this season progresses. No doubt the club's finances will continue to be a topic of discussion and interest.

By loaned what do you mean? They aren't allowed to put money into the club before the loan CVHL have is repaid...does that need to be paid first before any monies can go into the clubs coffers? Surely that would stem our growth in a way and then restrict us from trying to grow and make more money which in turn would help us pay off said loan

Fair enough Paul, but the question was is the new investment helping the club pay for transfers this summer - that requires monies arriving at the club - so far as we know that has not happened directly by capital addition means.

Fantastic work by the Club Marketing to get these guys. The video has 11m views in a couple of hours.
We are getting our Brand out there far beyond anything we have done before, hopefully getting some new fans too and with that revenue.
So glad we are finally pushing well beyond our postcodes and it feels like we have some real momentum building with Dude Perfect and JJ Watt.

We have been through this a number of times
There are normally two ways to put money into a club - New Share issues or loaning the club money
New share issues have to be open to existing shareholders so their holding is not necessarily diluted, it is not reliant on the CVHL loan being repaid (The Saudi main shareholders at Newcastle got round this by paying £57m for a single share) - this has not happened
Owner Loans to the club by the owners can occur at anytime and are not dependent on any debt the owners may have with the club (though it would be preferential for that debt to be repaid first)
Repaying the existing loans the owners have from the club would be a way of transferring investment monies in the ownership group to the club and that was thought to be part of the original takeover plan - while the new investors may see their money as an investment in the club - technically it is an investment in the ownership group that sees monies returned to the club.
It is not a popular view on here, but given there is no interest on CVHL loans and the rate of inflation even a repayment means the club is down in its cash balance on the transaction (before we even talk about the costs of the enabling loans, first from MSD, then the second last November). Many believe that such cost was worth the transition to where the club now stands.

Hi CP, I'm finding it a little difficult to understand what you are saying. The easy and simple way of the ALK Capital/Velocity Sports Partnership providing money to the club to spend this summer on transfers is by paying off some of the club's loan to CVHL. It doesn't need to be any other way.
The whole corporate structure of ALK Capital/Velocity Sports Partnership is that new investors can join Velocity Sports Partnership and become "co-investors" in Burnley Football Club. JJ and Kealia Watt, DudePerfect (whether as DudePerfect or as the individuals behind DP) will be investors in Velocity Sports Partnership. It will be perfectly natural to them to be investors in Burnley Football Club by taking a partnership stake in Velocity Sports Partnership. That's how these things are done in the US through these types of corporate structures.
Yes, no new shares issued by Burnley Football Club Holdings Limited and no dilution of the small investors. Of course, these small investors will all benefit as BFCHL grows and their shares become more valuable - and, we will both agree, they are taking the risk that this may not be so.
Similarly, there's no need for any co-owner/investor to lend money to BFCHL because they are already investing in Velocity Sports Partnership and providing the funds that the club needs by a reduction in the loan BFCHL has provided to Calder Vale.
It's the same with all financial assets and liabilities, they remain constant in nominal value only. Their value changes in "money of the day" terms. Putting working capital to work is what matters.

I’d be surprised if we aren’t looking to be a part of the Premier League series, next summer, assuming we stay up.
Does this tournament offer much value to the smaller clubs, when we know that all they really want is Man United and the likes?
Is it possible for little Burnley to take more than their fair share of support from America?
