This one came out of the blue but he's a player I actually have seen play and I think this could turn out to be an outstanding signing

That’s an excellent signing. Can’t get my head around what’s happening to be honest.

Exciting signing. Hopefully Ramsey isn’t too far behind.

Sheffield Utd fans really not happy!

One of TalkSport (earlier today) said “I would accept relegation now if Berge leaves”.

Top signing I reckon. Upgrade on current midfield options.

Sheffiled United statment is weird, uses phrases like "With immediate effect" - as if it was a manager sacking. Also states they've "accepted Burnley''s latest undisclosed offer".... I hope they're not disappointed when it does get disclosed - Imagine their shock if it's for £4 and a strip of tickets for the meat raffle.

Not sure exactly why, but my favourite signing of the summer. Linked with Liverpool a couple of times. Gives us the height and power we so evidently lack, and can definitely play a bit. You don't get signed by Kompany if you can't.

Excellent singing this, at last a big lad in midfield. Good footballer too. Wonder what changed since earlier in the summer for them to let him go, must have decided they need the money.

Looks a good addition as he can play both deep mid and spray it about a bit , we don’t have anyone with that style of play .

It's potentially a very good signing, but the most risky of this season so far given his inconsistencies and languid style. If anybody can fire him up it's VK and CB.

When we first bid maybe they were hopeful he'd sign a new contract, when he didn't talks resumed

Looks a top signing. Vinny can’t complain about not being backed. What must Dyche make of it all! The days of Dale Stephens seem a long time ago.

Berge is a top signing. I was surprised he stayed with the blades last season.

Dyche won’t care he was part of the problem for our lack of signings. Same thing happening at Everton now.

See link

we were after him in the Jan 2020 window and I believe quite close until Sheff Utd blew us out of the water.

Plugs a great big bloody hole in midfield imho.

I wonder if this means Lokonga isn't happening but i hope it doesn't. I do wonder if Lokonga came though if there would be an active role for Cork, or if he might accept a more bench based role going forwards.

I remember hearing something about that but they went in with a really big bid for him didn't they? That quickly put an end to it.

I don't know but I sort of guessed that we might have moved for Berge because of potentially not getting Lokonga. That deal was reportedly all but done a week or so ago but seems to have stalled.

Have to say, I'm probably happier with this signing.

We actively pursued him all window and thought we had secured him. Unfortunately it ended up being another miss as was often the case with transfers in that era. What a breath of fresh air this is. Multiple options in multiple positions with some out side of the box thinking.

Brilliant news, welcome to BFC, Sander.

I wonder if this signing at what I assume is a good price came about through our policy of moving on from targets when their clubs ask for too much. Pace, Kompany etc played it patiently rather than overpay, and then the Berge deal came up. Or maybe I’m reading too much into it and we’ve been working on it all summer. Whatever, I’m beyond happy with this signing.

Presumably another parking lot signing. It's interesting how you have slowly sneaked back on here after getting it so badly wrong last season.

Very much second choice and I believe a signing Dyche wasn't all that keen on. Dyche apologised to Rigg later on that one.

Over on the Paddy Power thread there's a feeling Burnley fans shouldn't be depicted as overly defensive of Dyche...

Bizarre how anyone can look at Dyche at Burnley and Dyche at Everton and not think he's at least a little bit responsible for poor transfer activity.

There some people who are so narrow minded and blinkered that they cannot see anything other than that false image in front of them.

The funny thing is I wasn’t even having a go just pointing out the obvious in response to another post.

Different era now at Burnley. A much more positive era.

Sad isn't another good transfer story ruined by posters still trying to defend Dyche. The evidence is there, who have Everton signed? Ashley Young a typical Dyche signing and some French winger. Even Barkley wouldn't go back
He is no longer our manager. He manages a club who is in our “mini-league” of possible relegation candidates.
I really respect what he did for us and enjoyed his tenure, but honestly, I wish him the worst footballing luck possible this season.

Everton are desperately trying to stay within ffp rules, they’ve got several clubs trying to find a way to have points deducted from them
They’ve let several players go because they’ve got no money really and need to chop the wage bill

Dyche has inherited a proper sh!tshow, it’s been well documented on here and across the media, but sure crack on and blame him for the mess at Everton

I wonder sometimes at the wilful lack of understanding that some of you happily display on here
