Have I missed something or is the Chelsea/Liverpool attempts to spend an absolute fortune a massive p**ss take?🤔

Transfer fees generally now are completely out of touch with the real world.

Contracted to Brighton until 2027
21yrs old
Clearly a talented player who will get better under the right manager

Two top clubs competing for him, so they’ve been pushing the price up

Well done Brighton for buying a player for 4.5 million and selling him for 111 million .. that’s how to do it !

Absolutely bonkers. He’s only 21 and could be world class in the future but £111m should be getting you one of the best players in the world.

You're probably right mate, but I think they said that about Trevor Francis when Forest coughed up a million quid for him.

Liverpool might lose out on him and Lavia to Chelsea. One doesn't want to go to Liverpool and they haven't met the price for the other.

Transfer fees have gone mental at the very top level, but even so this one seems excessive.

More than Rice, more than Bellingham.

If our Alan pulled a deal like that off I might not begrudge him a dividend

Liverpool wouldn't stump up the money for Bellingham but would for him. I know they are different positions but if you have the money Bellingham would probably have been the better one to buy.

Wouldn't have mattered, Bellingham wanted Madrid

Incredible fee for Caicedo. I know Brighton are very good at getting top dollar but bloody hell.

The problems run far deeper than Caicedo though.

These sort of prices are what our owners will be looking at.
Caicedo has no European club competition experience
Very little PL experience
Only plays for Ecuador

Yet still went for huge huge money

I'm not saying we'll get a fee like that for one of our lads but don't be surprised if we see us beating the Keane fee next summer if we have a good season.
