There is already a thread on this topic - key points from tonight's game- could we merge?

Positives:
Foster is a new man, looked class
Amdouni lively, Koleosho will clearly grow to be a real asset
Trafford didn't do anything wrong beyond a couple askew long balls, I'd still favour Muric but can't fault Trafford for much tonight.
Vitinho surprised me with his performance, did well
Al Dakhil looks like a monster of a player
For someone only here two days, Berge looked okay. Needs to bed in but could be good.
Benson scared even City and Bruun Larsen showed glimmers.

Negatives:
Benson and Beyer possibly injured, would be unfathomable blows
I know it was City but O'Shea hasn't convinced me he's as good as Ekdal
Zaroury red card is a stupid needless absence that we'll notice
We have some single digit IQ bellends in our fanbase

We gave it a decent bash but it all went a bit sideways in the last 20 minutes. Just have to hope everyone's fit and fully settled in for the next game, at least we have an extra week to prepare.

A good result and a number of good performances from new recruits. I would like another of the midfield targets come to fruition. There is plenty up front to scare most teams

Positives

Loads of them, top end of the pitch we will be really good, Foster was excellent. Midfield had never played together and did ok against the best midfield in the world. Not so long ago we lost 2-1 at home to QPR and we've improved since then

I thought it was actually more than that, but I don't see how finishing a game with ten men and a 3-0 defeat can be considered a good result, regardless of the opposition.

Because they beat teams 4, 5, 6 without them getting a kick. It isn't difficult.

I've thought about it, and from what I can gather, people are just relieved it wasn't the usual five or six.

That doesn't make it a good result.

And that we kept the ball and created chances. Some/a lot of teams get nowhere near doing that against Man City.

No they will know you as an airhead. Our team with a lot of new additions matched the best team in the world. Let's hear from you about why you cannot see the positives. But you can't can you?

Foster's improvement since he arrived has been great, honestly. He looked every bit a PL forward tonight. He just needs to start scoring, which I'm sure is just around the corner. He was really powerful in his runs tonight up against some of the quickest, most composed, most athletic defenders in the world, and he's getting quicker with his feet.

If you are booing players protesting against racism you are a tit whatever way you attempt to spin it on here. Another negative bloody referees at this level.

Plus points exciting players we’ll be fine when we aren’t playing teams that can pay 100 million for each position.

Interesting that we went man-to-man. I don't think we did that much, if at all last season, which was very zonal for the most part. There was one incredible press in the first ten minutes or so (the one that led to Amdouni's pen claim) that came like a flash flood where Cullen, I think, chased I think it was Rodri into his own box which triggered everyone to really squeeze up, and against lesser teams that's going to bag us loads of chances. Some of the individual battles were very well fought against genuinely world class players, and we were beat basically by a few goal mouth scrambles of a sort. We weren't constantly cleaved open by City which was a positive.

The negative above.

The positives:

Never felt as good after a 3-0 defeat. Some great performances all over the pitch and from debutants at this level and players who hadn’t played together before. Man City aren’t normal and neither is Haaland. That kind of performance against anothef PL team gets a result.

Went to buy refreshments in the interval only to find you have to prebook or stand in one queue to order then go stand in another to pick up the ordered items.

I’m not against the pre-booking but I’d like to have the option of paying by cash as well.

So the £15 we didn’t spend in the interval was spent elsewhere after the match.

You haven't been able to spend cash on Turf for about 3 years now, I'm not sure how BFC will survive without your 15 quid.
P.S. the half time pre booking with debit card worked a treat 😘

our youngest ever PL team, 5 debutants, a midfield that had never played together against the best team in the world, we did ever so well for large chunks of that game. If that is City on day one make no mistake they will walk the division again

Loads of positives, and the negatives were only the ones we expected to see, mainly City are an amazing football team.

If we can play that well against City, with so many new players, new to the system, then the lesser teams in this league should hold no fear.

Trafford, Al Dakhil, O'shea, Beyer, Berge, Amdouni, Koleosho all showed so much promise for the future.
Foster deserved his mom. So strong not just in winning the ball, but holding players off and protecting it. He needs a goal, but he is some player, just as VK forecast.

2. Aren't the bars franchises meaning BFC have already got the money?
