Back of Cricket Field Stand Mural Suggestions
Back of Cricket Field Stand Mural Suggestions
On a different thread someone suggested Burnley related mural on the back wall all along the CFS. Let's have some suggestions. For me it shouldn't be player images. There are too many greats. We need something town and club identity.
Throwing a few starters out

I don’t actually get the impression that Alan is solely about making money. I think he’d do the right thing if ideas like this were presented to him.
Personally I LOVE murals and if the ‘breeze block look’ - giving the impression of the cheapest football stand ever built- could be adorned with murals I’d be delighted.
I’d also like them on parts of the BL!
Maybe one for the FAB to suggest?!

I’d go for a live art exhibit. Discard a few sofas, smashed televisions and overflowing wheelie bins down there to really encapsulate what’s great about the town.

Would need to be something that the cricket club are happy with.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 11:49 pmI don’t actually get the impression that Alan is solely about making money. I think he’d do the right thing if ideas like this were presented to him.

True enough, although I imagine whatever you put there can’t be worse than that bland, dirty grey wall.helmclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:58 amWould need to be something that the cricket club are happy with.

I don’t think Claret / dark red colours would work.

Please no...They look marginally ok when all fresh and newly painted..But as they begin to fade and become weather worn they look hideous..

Anyone know what happened to the Walter Kershaw murals that used to be on the hoardings along Belvedere Road? I think there were some on the bridge over the Calder on Hammerton Street as well. Best part of 50 years since they were painted, but could they be replicated?

Saw this earlier in the week in Watchet, Somsert, was painted in 2016 detailing the history of the town and must take some weather as it is the inside of the sea wall. They don't automatically look bad after a short period

A rogues gallery of posters on here who make stuff up about Tella & Maatsen either training at Gawthorpe or having medicals after 'done deals.'
