I saw the first episode on BBC iPlayer and it was pretty good although it was just setting the scene - his marital situation, introducing some of his associates and his communist affiliations. It's quite nicely done and believable.

Two episodes of the seven were shown last Saturday and two next, on BBC4 at 2240.
