If the gossip rumours are to be believed Chelski will be spending £160m plus on adding the 2 midfielders also chased by Liverpool from Brighton and Southampton.

Helter-skelter sort of game at the moment. Think we can keep the ball better than these two on this showing! The goal was very good, some excellent couple of passes. Open game, especially down Chelsea's left, Salah been free a few times.
And... He bags.

Chelsea look like they need to spend another 500m tbh.

Chelsusa have spent around a billion to put together that motley crew.
Some god awful signings and have arguably weakened despite spending big bucks - mount/kovacic are better than what they have in the middle right now

Looks like Chelsea have hologram badges on their shirts.
Probably to make it harder to fake.

Just switched it on as Chelsea scored twice - 2nd disallowed - is it my eyes, my tv or have Chelsea not got any sponsor on their shirts?

They've had a hologram defence for some of this half.

First time watching a game on sky sports for a while. They have more advert breaks than when watching NFL on US TV don’t they?!

When they’ve invested another £150m on bringing in 2 more midfield players they’ll look one hundred and fifty million times better than they do right now.

Maatsen on, surely time to give up and pull the trigger on one of the other LB targets.

Unless Maatsen comes on as more of a winger, which he's played in preseason.

He hasn't been playing left back for Chelsea though. Chelsea bring in a left winger or two and Maatsen could be available again.

Fair play to Brighton for getting so much for the dud Curcuralla.

I normally zone out on the games involving the so called big clubs, I tend to find the football boring, both sides side to side, standing off, too chess like, cancelling each other out.
I've enjoyed this game though, a bit of bite from both sides, actually going at each other from the off.
Agree on Chelsea looking decent, very quick and aggressive on and off the ball, Jackson looks like he'll cause teams few problems this season. Thiago Silva cruising with Pipe an slippers, he's brilliant

Maatsen struggling, looks completely lost at this level, I suggest Chelsea cut their losses on him and give him to us for 2 million

Maatsen would have given away a pen then if it wasn’t offside.
So far he has played centre attacking midfield and right midfield in 10 minites. Missed a chance to win the game by snatching, a bit like our youngsters on Friday.
He isn’t an attacker, he is a defender who can attack, but one a bit too vulnerable for Chelsea at the back with their aspirations. So he won’t play more than 200 minutes under Poch, whereas he would get 3,000 minutes for us. Interesting to see which he feels is best for his development.

Hasn’t done himself any favours since coming on Maatsen. Very harsh to say after should a short spell but at this level you have to take every chance you get if you want to make it. Maybe we have a chance after all

To be honest I don't think he would have had his hand in the air claiming for offside if it wasn't offside.

Surprised it has not been mentioned, but Liverpool player wasn't actually offside as the ball was played via Chelsea defender, it was a penalty.

Maatsen won't be making many appearances for Chelsea once the window has closed. Judging by that showing, I should imagine.
2 sloppy looking sides who are both clearly going to be in the Euro places come the end of the season. Was the grass extra long or something? Appeared to make the ball move very slugglishly instead of zipping.

I know the rule used to be that you can't leave the field of play and come back on, like that.

That was my thought as well so I've just downloaded the laws of the game. It's 230 pages so I'll get back to you sometime about the start of next season.

No he wouldn’t. He had his hand up because he was shouting ‘Offside’ . If the player wasn’t offside he wouldn’t have had his hand up.
