The length of the ban for the first two idiots will show how serious the club is about this.
Not sure how easy it will be to enforce, obviously if they're season ticket holders those can be cancelled, apart from that I'd think it would be difficult to police. BUT it needs to be done.

Good to hear the club condemning such behaviours, quickly and decisively. Having read the statement, it appears to suggest that multiple fans invaded the playing area. It was one individual, wasn’t it?

These incidents are damaging to both the club & the Town, especially in light of the favorable publicity around our promotion, Mission to Burnley & the Bank of Dave........i'd ban them for good!

They should also have to do some sort of sit down meeting with someone that’s experienced health issues/complications/injury from being struck by a missile or educated on the dangers.
Same with people that are caught with racist chanting.

I guess they want all fans to know that the club expects all fans to behave. I also question the need for this today. They put out a prompt statement during the match. Good responsive action. The media seemed to react positively to that. I don't see what this update adds other than to bring it up again. Indeed by not raising the other negative element from Friday of the BLM gesture booing (and I'm not suggesting they needed to) it could cause some out there to note that omission and give us grief for that. By implication, the words of this statement could be construed to suggest the club found the booing to be not 'unacceptable behaviour'.

The media didn't react positively enough because nobody mentioned it on the MOTD, I fully agree that incidents like this should be shown on the television but equally afterwards it's fair to ask the club do you have anything to add in response & televise that as well. I’m glad it’s not just me. Full praise for the club for coming out with such a statement, but for something as important as this, I really wish it’d been proof-read. Once they are judged (i.e. in a court of law) they will be. But this country operates with innocent until proven guilty and rightly so. Therefore, no names should ever be released until found guilty by the courts.

It would need a banning order issued from the court.
Not sure either case would get that far. If the lad tried to run on the pitch but failed. (Did he do anything else?)
The guy who threw the lighter would be able to say he through the lighter in a general direction rather than deliberately targeting the player.
The chances of hitting a moving player deliberately must be pretty slim.

If they are found guilty in court they will be instantly given minimum 3 year ban maximum courts can give is 10 year ban . Only the club can issue life bans.

The club will ban you whether you are guilty or not,before the offense goes to court.Bit out of order really .Unless you punch 2 women in bob lord stand, during Blackburn game when arseholed .Get arrested,and caution,free to watch next game .Even the good old liason officer,wasn't interested in this one.Maybe it didn't tick right boxes .

Dear me....it's a message board for discussion of all things BFC and the OP is perfectly within his rights to raise the issue of what it can be like sitting next to/near a complete idiot. I moved seats myself a few seasons back to escape one. Your entitled to your view that the way to deal with this is to to tackle the individual yourself but 1. It's pretty obvious why many people would not want to do that and 2.
