Good! Hope first we as a fan base follow suit, ideally with being told by anyone.

I cringe every time I hear that song. Only gives credence to those who spout we are backward and a club full of Neanderthals.

Should be confined to the bin.

It's a bit sad when you see older blokes singing it with their young kids in tow, but it's up to them if they want to look like chumps.

Don't mind it myself, especially when the young kids sing it,but don't know what they are singing about. What are the acceptable chants these days?

Terrible chant.

Need more uplifting chants on the terraces not sung at 100mph and actually need those in the Jimmy Mc/Bob Lord to try and make some noise

What happens to fans who do continue to sing it? Ejected? Banned? Bank account frozen? That's where we are heading, drip by drip. The weaponisation of football continues unabated.

Do people genuinely think that other fans care that we (and a multitude of other clubs by the way) sing this song?

I would have thought the cringeworthy song we sing about Rovers is more offensive. Implying the males are all illegitimate?

Not the first time this has been debated on here. An outdated chant.

Wouldn't take much to change it to 'it's full of pies, bene and Clarets' or something similar.

Local songs, traditions etc don’t fit well in the corporate world of sanitised football . Spurs are constantly reminding their large Jewish fan base to stop referring to themselves as yids.
Always makes me laugh how corporate football loves smoke bombs swirling in the air in their “ passion “ montages , and maybe even a shot of police horses ! Yet vigorously enforce bans on bringing smoke bombs ( or horses) into stadia .

Don't worry we will not be going down the Blackpool route.

Alan loves the atmosphere the CFS create, and sees it as a plus towards pushing the team on and helping them perform.

So for those that slate the CFS, singers or atmosphere, your chairman, manager and players appreciate them, they add something that is valued and appreciated by the people that matter.

I’m sure he does like the “atmosphere” but ask him whether he wants to hear a song gleefully cheering someone’s death and another demeaning his wife and daughter, I doubt he’d say yes.

He's a clever man, he will know any songs won't be aimed at nor demeaning his wife or daughter, just as he won't when he hears his employees the manager, staff and players swear or say things whilst on the training field or pitch.

IF ( and I'm not saying you are ) every person stopped doing things that could or does offend a person, we may aswell all sit in a darkened room on our own.

Bad Manners and lack or respect offend me, but I've learnt to just deal with it as more people than not walk about these days without them.

I hate that song. Why we began singing that in the late 80’s/early 90’s I’ll never know.

We used to sing “Oh when the Clarets go marching in”, and it can be clearly heard on the Orient videos out there, so we hadn’t changed it by 1987 anyway.

Please go back to that version. TF&C is cringey.

It's not the songs, it's the content that is being discussed. Why not put some energy and passion into some new lyrics with more acceptable 'humour '.
MACCA as leader of the CFS you could become immortalised here if you were prepared to accept the challenge.

I get what you're saying but that song is clearly outdated and unnecessarily offensive. We have many other chants that are far more effective and inspiring than that one.

Certainly goes back to mid-60s,maybe earlier.
The version I remember (growing up) went something like this:

"Oh Ralphie Coates is wonderful(x2)
Full of hell, full of go, full of vigour.
Oh Ralphie Coates is wonderful."

I think they were the words. No doubt someone will correct me. There were definitely no t****s or F******,and no need for them.

T1ts fanny and clarets is a bit of fun and no doubt the 15-23 yrs olds live bellowing it out . It’s completely harmless and hardly sang to demean anyone . Is it’s cringeworthy? Yes it is a bit , but anymore cringe than the CFS singing “ 10 in a row “ ( albeit briefly till City scored again ) ? You’re playing the best team in the world and your singing about a run of games to win the Championship bauble ?

We sang YNWA at Wembley in 88 too, and also way back in the early 1970’s as well, the same as about two dozen other clubs who had it as part of their repertoire. It wasn’t offensive to anybody though, or distasteful when younger fans are in earshot.

I think by cringeworthy people mean distasteful really, in that they don’t want their kids hearing it or repeating it. And those older than maybe 25-30 don’t really join in with it all that much. Perhaps different words would get more people joining in?

You can’t really stop people singing what they want though.
