Ben Mee, we need experience, a talker and an organiser.

Mee is quality, but with the high line we play and our style we need someone who also has speed and can play the ball. I think he would struggle in our current style. Same with Tarks.

Lot to ask for a I know and luckily have Beyer. I think AAD will get there, he isn't a million miles off and will grow with these experiences. I think leaders will emerge as the season goes on and the players get more comfortable with each other.

We've signed O'Shea and we have to make the best of that decision at centre half. We don't need another. What we do need is better protection in front of the back 4.

Are there any players out there good enough to do that role for us, but are within our budget?

Well i think it is Berge's best role for a start.

We needed a big athletic midfielder, either a sitter or a box-to-box or both, for all of Dyche's time in the Prem. We still need one now.

I still maintain a midfield of Cullen, Berge and Brownhill should, on paper, be fine on that score. The issue today was that the midfield was 1 player, and it picked up an early yellow. We didn't give ourselves chance to compete.

Isn’t Berge better suited to a more advanced midfield role? Thinking back to his decent season in the Premier League with Sheff United, I thought he played further up.

He didn’t look particularly defensively minded today and didn’t appear to look to spread the play - has he got a decent long ball in his locker?

I don’t see someone in the team to help us stretch the game and play diagonals. That for me is a key requirement for this team and will benefit the wide men.

A CDM alongside Cullen would be right up there on my shopping list, alongside a left back.

Yep, me too. Seems fairly obvious those are the two big gaps. We can't have a midfield like that for many more games this season, we'll drop like a stone.

His stock has fallen at Sheff Utd. He came to prominence in Belgium as a 6.

I was staggered at Berge's contribution today. I seriously hope that was because he was shunted into an inappropriate number 10 role because that was well off the pace. Lazy was a word I saw Sheff Utd attribute to him and I'm not far off using it after today.

If that’s the case, a little more concerning based on his display today. He certainly didn’t strike me as being an effective defensive midfielder, but early days.

Berge looked really weak in the tackle today, even before his booking.

I’m not sure he’s the answer for a defensive central midfielder.
