Koleosho seems to be splitting opinion amongst fans yesterday. Personally I thought he was good, the Goal came from his initial run and then another run led to a corner that created another chance.

There’s no denying that at 18 year old his decision making and end product could be better but to be playing at the level he is at his age then surely he can only turn into a good footballer which that natural pace.

The burden of being a key player in the first 2 games shouldn’t of been put on an 18 year old who cost 2m

Best 18 year old I've ever seen play for us, he's going to be an excellent player. Might be best we encourage him when he makes a mistake or gives the ball away rather than admonish him

He's a very exciting talent who was 2nd behind Foster as my MOTM.
I can put up with the odd wrong decision from a player who gets you up off your seat like this lad does.

Koleoshi looks a decent talent but he’s very very raw at this stage

Villa were doubling up on Benny and Kolo found himself with space and time but we never regularly found him with those trademark sweeping passes out of the back, I guess we really missed the THB and Beyer sweeping feed out of the back to the left.
He will improve and you can see his passion and effort.

Went down a few blind alleys, got the wrong side of his man defensively on a couple of occasions and the final ball occasionally let him down.

Aside from the above, which he has to be given leeway for, being so young and thrown in at such a level, I’ve been impressed. Loads of potential in this lad. You wouldn’t think he was as young as he is.

I don’t necessarily think that too much burden has been put on him. It’s one to watch though because we certainly don’t want to knock his confidence if he doesn’t always deliver.

Trafford isn’t 18 and didn’t cost 2m not the same at all, he’s going to be our record signing, and Trafford should should have done better for 2 of the goals but he still made 2 good saves, saying someone should have done better is making an observation, I said koleosho decision making and end product could be better but I’m not criticising him

I should of said the burden some of the fan base seem to have put on him, seen comments ‘he’s nowhere near good enough’ but a 2m 18 year old shouldn’t even be in the conversation as to being good enough yet

I remembered what I said yesterday and I would 100% have muric back in and take Trafford out of the firing line but you can’t compare our going to be record signing to a 2m 18 year old who had only played 4 senior games before this season.

I’ll ask you this, does me saying koleosho could have a better end product and better decision making mean I am criticising him?

anyone criticizing anyone after 2 games with half a new team playing against City and Villa needs to take a chill pill and look at the bigger picture.

It's clear that Koleosho looks a great talent for his age and will probably go on to be a real player. Clearly hasn't got the tank and nous to be a 90 minute Prem player yet. Looks good and perhaps some last 30 mins appearances will be the way.

Exciting player and clearly has a lot of talent.

Great potential.
Brilliant on the ball, but needs to use it better, much as Benson when he first played.
As his confidence grows, and he gets used to the system and his team mates, he'll get better and better.

He’s very raw, going to make mistakes and make the wrong decisions - but WOW what a prospect, 18yo bargain, tricky pacey direct !

Very exciting young player, did really well for our goal yesterday. I’d imagine he will be a reduced to an impact / cup player for the rest of the season though as the likes of Zaroury and (possibly) Tresor take his place. Looks a brilliant signing at 3m.

I think he is a star in the making, and will be a massive part of our squad in the near future. I also thought he played very well against City on right wing, with Zeki next him and started crafting out situations as both very technical players, so wouldn't mid seeing Koleosho starting at RW more, and Benny brought on as an impact after the defenders have been run ragged chasing Kolesho down. Until Zarouri is fit I would be personally looking at Redmon on the left wing. all very good problems to have.

Exciting

There will be some failings in the 13 odd players brought in this window,its to be expected, but Koleosho has shown he will not be one of them. Could be become a great asset for us in more ways than one

His ability and rawness reminds me a lot of Ronaldo in his first season at United. You could tell there was a great player in there but he didn’t look anything special at first. Not a single person would’ve predicted he’d go on to be the great player he became.

Obviously very few kick on to have the career he did but my point is that even the absolute greats look raw at 18.

I think we have a real talent on our hands.

There's an equally long history of certain players getting criticised even when they hadn't made a mistake

He showed early in the game when he skinned the Villa defender and put in a great cross that he is going to be the business. I hope Kompany sticks with him as the players get used to each other.

Didn't need to be sweeping passes. Several times Delcroix looked like he could have given him the ball but opted not to.

Good young player but still very raw.

Needs to be released behind the opposing full back more because he can get behind any fullback in the league not named Kyle Walker imo. His acceleration is top percentile.

Simply fantastic and how exciting to have an 18 year old thrilling us like this during his development (the vital word, if a player is not fully developed they have chinks in their game to iron out, that is normal for anyone not called Messi).

Luca, don’t take constructive comments from fellow posters to heart, because I would guess, as a young American lad, you’ll not be able to resist reading this stuff about you on social media. You’ll be well loved at the Turf.

He surprised me in the positive sense. I didn't expect him to even be playing with first team already. He's a very hard working responsible player who picks things up easily. Thanks to his enormous speed he can help alot in defense which has proven very useful against City and Villa. On the ball he still can improve alot but there's definitely bright moments and he creates chances. The end product, striking the ball, crossing, long passing, is probably the area he can improve most.

I think he's at the right place to learn.

Even though I like him alot I don't think he should be starting for Burnley at this moment.

But if you saw the lack of physicality with Benson... He shouldn't either.

Strong praise indeed given that McNeil almost single handedly kept us up from Jan 2019 to the end of season as a 19 year old.

Yes but McNeil had already been here for quite a few years ,where Koleosho has only been in the country a few weeks never mind the club.

He’s rapid and strong for his age
He’s likely going to get stronger which could make him even faster
I can’t see a single negative from his performance against Villa
We were too slow to get the ball to him and turned down virtually every opportunity to lift the ball over the top to him when he was making a run and showing for a ball over the top.

Koleosho performed well on Sunday and was good to watch. Can see him quickly becoming a crowd favourite this year.

As a team we did try a number of defence splitting passes and I said in another thread that I think Villa had their defensive structure and positioning perfect all game, there wasn’t any space to work with

A real find. One of the most two-footed players I remember seeing.

This is a player that is 18 years old and had played 55 minutes of first team football before joining us this summer. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how much he can progress under our coaching staff. I think we've got a real exciting player on our hands here, but like most young players he will need patience and support around him.

Thought he was a bit of a passenger for the first half but came alive somewhat in the second half.

To say that was only his second professional start (for any club in his career) and with it coming after his first being against the best team in the world, in a new country and only being 18... I'd say he did very well.
