Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
After the fiasco of the club accounts being permanently late, we now have an alleged loan deal cock up, which has displeased the player involved.

I think selecting a single transaction out of countless successful moves in and out over the few years as a means to suggest the club admin staff aren’t “aren’t good with paperwork” is a bit disingenuous to be honest.

Perhaps we were intentionally ‘late with the papers’ when the Maatsen deal fell through?

Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
Seems like proper ******** to be fair. A player who had surgery in June, for Burnley to go to the trouble of agreeing to loan him abroad with all that entails, and then be late with the paperwork? Nah.
Whatever you think of all the late filing accounts etc, there can't be anyone who really believes it's because the club is bad at admin?

If the article is to be believed, PSV just as much to blame, they needed a defender all summer and made a bid "late" on deadline day. Things can go wrong if you leave it to the end, same as us with Maatsen.

Probs for the best of CJ because he can now stay at home rather than being sat on the bench in another country

Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
Hi Ian, when were the club's accounts "permanently late?" The club's accounts were published by the end of April this year, same as the previous years when the year end was put back a month when covid-19 delayed the completion of the premier league season. Yes, the club was late for the EFL deadline by a few weeks and they imposed a transfer ban while the transfer window was closed in any case. Yes, Calder Vale and Kettering Capital the entities that hold most of the shares in the club haven't yet published their accounts. It will happen, sometime.IanMcL wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:20 pmAfter the fiasco of the club accounts being permanently late, we now have an alleged loan deal cock up, which has displeased the player involved.

Re outgoing defender, don't you think it was a good idea to spend more time on handling the incoming transfers. From what I see, Chelsea were keen to loan Ian Maatsen to Burnley, but Ian himself was keen to stay at Chelsea.

Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
Maybe PSV should have sorted things out quicker? We evidently had a lot going on deadline day, not least the Maatsen deal and sorting the Tresor final details out, never mind the numerous other situations that may have been going on. Strikes me as PSV trying to pass the buck for their own tardiness.

I thought Egan-Riley was injured, he can play right back yes and is a possible option for the roberts role as well goijg into the midfield . Is he good enough? No idea. Is he fit? No idea

everyone knows we are late with paperwork, maybe PSV should have made a bid for him 4 days ago

They’re all at it at the moment..
Some love, absolutely love it when there’s an opportunity to let go and fly in…

The same ones who backed the old regime 100% in some cases, which is just sad

If we expect other clubs to complete paperwork, as a prem league club, we should not be falling down.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 1:55 pmHi Ian, when were the club's accounts "permanently late?" Egan-Riley doesn't get near our first team and is not a right back. Dodgson eas the one to delay, if that was the case.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:25 pmPerhaps we were intentionally ‘late with the papers’ when the Maatsen deal fell through?

Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
My point is that priority for Burnley on deadline day was to get incoming transfers completed. What time did PSV's transfer window close? Was it same time as for Burnley or earlier?
Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
Europe was Midnight there, 11pm equivalent here.
Surely not just one of everything, on such a big day?

Re: Another late 'paperwork' issue. Accounts/Transfers
Not so straightforward.
When does the transfer window close? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66671452
The transfer window will close at 23:00 BST on Friday, 1 September for the Premier League and EFL, while in Scotland, the window will shut at midnight.
Across Europe, the Bundesliga window will close at 17:00, Serie A at 19:00, Ligue 1 at 22:00 and La Liga at 23:00 but the Women's Super League transfer window remains open until 14 September. (The BBC doesn't say if these times are local times or all UK times).
The transfer window for the Saudi Pro League, to where a number of high-profile Premier League players have moved this summer, is set to close on 7 September.

If you actually knew what the situation was at our club, you would know that CJ suffered a long term injury at the end of last season and remains unfit. The loan paperwork story is just absolute nonsense.IanMcL wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:20 pmAfter the fiasco of the club accounts being permanently late, we now have an alleged loan deal cock up, which has displeased the player involved.

I thought that was the case - not sure where it originated from but seemed a bizarre story given the fact (I thought) everyone knew he was still recovering from a long-term injury.

You mean PSV weren't trying to sign someone who has hardly played any football for anyone and who is currently injured to help them with their Champions league campaign ?
