Andrew Flintoff - Good to see him back..
Has anyone seen the recent pictures of Andrew Flintoff in which he was watching England against New Zealand in Cardiff.. Great to see him back in the public eye..
It looks like he is on the long road to recovery after his horrific crash in December..
I do like Flintoff, he comes across as a fun loving kind of guy, especially on a League of their Own.. I certainly wish him well, but sadly I don’t think we will see him back on our tv screens anytime soon in my opinion judging by his horrendous injuries..

They never revealed the full extent of his injuries did they?
It’s good to see him back out and also sad to see that his injuries are still an issue

I read where 6 of the BBC staff are still off work with trauma issues, so god knows how bad it was at the scene..

I noticed he had cuts/plasters in his face still and wondered if they were from operations he’s still having perhaps?
Re: Andrew Flintoff - Good to see him back..
I hope he hasn't any brain damage,as others have said he comes across as genuine. Time to scrap Top Gear IMHO the stunts were getting more dangerous.

I know someone who is based at Old Trafford in which they said he is so lucky to be alive.. Looking at the photos it looks likes he is still receiving treatment to his face.

Don’t know the details but the recent pictures of him are 9 months after the crash so he must have been in a fair state as he looks to still have some facial cuts/scars.
Poor guy. Very likeable, down to earth bloke. Hope he continues to recover

I didn't realise his injuries were so severe. I remember when he had the accident but I thought it was just a bump and he was off for just a few weeks.
That said, I don't watch the stuff he's on

I believe the car he drove at 130mph had no airbag and he did not wear a helmet so he was very exposed to the brunt of impact, hence why so many BBC staff are still receiving trauma support.

First I’ve heard of it.

Plastic surgery?
Didn't quite look like the old Freddie.
Also looked like a bloke who had been let out for the day. A bit bemused and overwhelmed by it all.
Luckily, he was amongst friends.
All that for a TV prog.

very sad for him his family and friends
Re: Andrew Flintoff - Good to see him back..
may be just a poor picture but if as true no air bag or safety harness then he could have lost a few million brain cells from the head injury. The deceleration injury is like pulling hard on a load of electric wires. What gets tangled up cant be reconnected

Good to see he was able to get out and watch some cricket after that shocking accident and hope he's able to get back on TV soon whether that's A League of their Own, his mobile chippy or Field of Dreams.
He's never had it easy. His cricket career was ruined with injuries and he was a wonderful player for Lancs and England.

Has anyone been prosecuted? I know health and safety can be a dirty word but bloody hell who signed that off?Turf War Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 8:22 pmI believe the car he drove at 130mph had no airbag and he did not wear a helmet so he was very exposed to the brunt of impact, hence why so many BBC staff are still receiving trauma support.
I'd imagine it wasn't so much plastic surgery as a full reconstruction and I'm frankly amazed he's able to be up and about. Im incredulous that he isn't confined to a powered wheelchair
