they've started well, better side so far tonight. We shouldn't have any fear of them though

Better than trying to walk the ball into the net.

They’re dangerous because they’ve good players, but they look terrible at the minute, best time to play them.

Man Utd didn’t play bad at all that half.

100% sure we will get done on the counter attack Saturday, exactly like we did against Villa. We don’t have the speed at the back to catch the likes of Rashford & Hojlund when they break.

Our home record against United on the whole is poor. Better playing them away!

Appreciate United as a whole look pretty ****, but I am impressed with Hojlund. He’s quick strong and clearly very good technically.

Our boys will have to be spot on to defending him

Judging by the way Utd have played tonight and against Brighton, I would say this is about as good as it gets in terms of when to play them. Having said that, they have lost plenty already this season, which could bite us this Saturday……..but hopefully not!

They have great pace in a few players but have conceded 3 goals in 3 games consecutive.

Foster will be gutted he’s not playing against these.

Definitely think we can score against them but if we defend like we did vs Forest then they’ll score several too. Rashfords pace will cause us problems and also agree with the above that Hojlund looks good.

Does anyone know when we last scored more than one against them at home?

1978 was the last time they conceded 3, in 3 consecutive games.

If we are as sloppy on the ball against United as we where at times on Monday then you expect united have the quality going forward to put those chances away

The point and performance was encouraging vs forest but United are a different level altogether.

You don’t knock 3 in vs Bayern away without some real quality going forward & we gave forest loads of chances.

Hoping really we have learned from the first 3 games and have a plan to keep it tight and not concede early, then have a crack at them.

I agree with the OP because (hopefully) MU will be lacking their first choice full backs. If Maguire is fit thats a bonus.

I was in the Allianz tonight and Utd looked good off the ball. I’m sure you don’t see that on TV but the were hounding the midfield of Bayern. They forced multiple misplaced passes but Bayern did react in the second half to that. Utd were obviously weak in defence, especially the keeper. Shoot every chance you get would me my recommendation!

If we play with the same set up as against Forest we have a chance of a good result. I fear our defence from the first three games coming up against Rashford.

United have lost to Brighton, Arsenal, Spurs and Bayern.
They've beaten Wolves and Forest.

If they're off the game and we're on ours then we might nick it with a bit of luck. I'd be really happy with a point.

Rather be playing them away especially with all the noise going on around Old Trafford.

The 4-3 scoreline was a joke. It could easily have been 7-1.
They will have had a roasting for sure but, at the highest level, they are a team of names all past their best. That doesn’t mean they can’t turn us over if they are at it but we should go in with nothing to fear.

Nearly everytime we say it’s a good time to play a top team it makes no difference. Thinking back to when teams have had midweek games, less training time or less rest time they just bring others players in from very strong squads.

Didn't someone say that they had 3 goalkeepers and some kids on the bench. That recovery time may play to our advantage. Who are they going to bring in that didn't play at Bayern?

Utd could have been utterly roasted last night and the 4-3 is extremely flattering for them . They look a disjointed mess , but have plenty of high quality and will be very dangerous indeed on the counter .

To say they have 11 first team injuries I didn’t think they performed too badly if I’m honest.

They fell apart in a 15 min spell in the first half but I didn’t think they looked disjointed for the majority of the game.

I think United will still be a real force on Saturday. We should underestimate them

My sentiments exactly. The fact that they're going to infect our
ground turns my stomach. The sooner it's over and they're gone,
the better for me.

A win for us would be a dream come true. Can't abide them.

Its probably a good time to play them to keep the score reasonable. I think with foster bullying their CB we'd have had a chance, but don't think we've got a suitable replacement. We're awful defending set pieces and i can see that being our downfall on Saturday. I think we'll give em a game but it's another free hit and we know how that usually ends.
