It's run it's course, it's relevance has gone.
"Woke" - what a lazy, stupid thing to say.
You say that but look at the BBC Football homepage - Birmingham vs QPR 8th down.

Above that:

England vs Scotland - 41K in attendance - top billing deservedly so

2nd billing - Iceland vs Wales - no attendance stats

5th billing - Sweden vs Spain - main article about a protest.

8th billing - Birmingham vs QPR - 19.8K in attendance.

There is definitely an agenda to push women’s football beyond it’s current fanbase. That’s clear from the data - irrespective of a view if its right or wrong

It's taken a bit longer than expected but we got there in the end.
Woke, BBC wasting licence payers' money, MOTD, ticking boxes.... damn near a full house, I'd say.

Would Claret Tony or any of the others on this thread who are criticising Alex Scott like to name another female presenter they would like to do FF instead?

That assumes a knowledge of all the female broadcasters around the regions which most on here won't have.

It would be remarkable if there wasn't someone out there that could bring more to the roll than Alex Scott.

Unless you're suggesting that she's as good as it gets?

I haven’t watched it for years. Nothing to do with Alex Scott it’s just out of its time zone. It can’t compete with lunchtime kick offs on TV and internet coverage of injury updates etc. Surprised it wasn’t dropped years ago.

Dreadful presenter who can barely string a sentence together.

She's wonderful on the eye though, but it isn't enough.

Get Laura Woods in.

Gabby Yorath, Kelly Cates, Laura Woods very good presenters.
Football focus has been dogger for years, think they will keep it going till it’s 50th year with a selection of guest presenters and then bin it off.

Reading through this topic and others lately, it shows what a state our nation is in. Criticising a female presenter and people are accused of being misogynist & sexist. Criticising a person who happens to be black, people are called racist. Criticism of a person who happens to have a different sexual orientation, and they are homophobic. Voicing concerns how a transgender man, competing in a sport against biological women, and they are called transphobic.

For what it’s worth,, Alex Scott is not the right presenter for FF, she stumbles on her words, is very unprofessional, & I don’t see why she has to be replaced by a another female presenter, but there are some very good ones on sky.
Whoever is in charge of the production of FF has got the program content completely wrong, but that’s the whole of the bbc at the moment. Larger companies than the BBC ,like Disney, are finding out that not putting out the right content for consumers can and is very costly and non profitable.

Kelly Cates would be excellent. Anyone who would stop the pathetic giggling and pseudo-humour Alex Scott seems to think has to be injected into every item.

Kelly Cates, Kate Abdo, Laura Woods are all excellent presenters. Alex Scott is a good pundit but I don’t think she’s a good presenter.

I just watched the back end of the episode, and this is what I saw

Clem goes to Gillingham and interviews Neil Harris and the new owners, but nothing too interesting.

Swansea does things for fans with dementia and other disabilities.

Interview with Luton player. Kenilworth Road is still a novelty ground. Look at the new signs saying, ‘Pitch this way’ lol.

A female footballer sadly died, a bit on that with a link to England women, finished on the ‘Spain Scandal’ and footballers showing solidarity with branding. However, nothing interesting was said other than middle-of-the-road comments from Stephen Warnock.

A new FIFA game is out, but the angle is about women in the Ultimate Team. Pundit pokes fun at men getting angry about female inclusion. Nothing else is said about the new game.

It felt more like watching a training course than entertainment. Maybe they need a new show that is about Football and keep this this one about DEI in Sports because thats is what they want to make.

Alex Scott presented it well.

How on earth "Clem" leveraged getting a gig on the BBC's Football League coverage years ago into now being the BBC's Football League "expert" I will never know. Cannot stand that man.

For years, I assumed ‘Clem’ used to be a former lower-league footballer, given how he talks to people in the profession. I thought that was his thing and I forgave him for looking like he was trying too hard.

Football focus is probably struggling against live football on af that time and the sheer amount of football related discussions on tv. I don't have a problem with Alex Scott, not sure what the problem is here. But perhaps the programme being 'inclusive' with women's domestic football, which is not really as popular as they try to make out, doesn't help.

Sounds terrible, but I struggle to see what else they can do. So much content on YouTube, they haven't got a chance really. Scheduling it against live football is stupid too. Doesn't matter who is presenting, it's on borrowed time.
