I have Estupinan in my team. I also took Watkins out because he wasn't scoring and then he starts to go mad.

Saints looking a lot better than recently. Comms saying they had an easy start to the season and had come up against better teams since. True but he never mentioned that between their good start and the poor run they sold Nathan Tella & Ward-Prowse.
3-0, armstrong again.
He also didn’t mention the change with Adams and Edozie benched to stiffen up the MF.

It’s ridiculous how often something like that happens.

Villa are pressing high up really well and BHA are coping poorly with that - as you say. On their left, Dunk isnt great with the ball (especially on his left foot) and Estupiñán is having a 'mare. Watkins is looking very aggressive and sharp, terrifying the BHA back line over on the other (right) side and the middle.

Obviously they're a good side and obviously this sounds like hindsight but I've never really got Brighton. Seen highlights of their games and I'm always thinking why the opposition never seems to press them. Dunk and whoever always seem to have eons on the ball. Looks like Villa have pressed and hey presto.

Shows what a tough fixture start we've had with both Manchester clubs, a rejuvenated Spurs and an excellent Villa at home..

Difficult to work out the standard of the Prem at times. Watkins looked very good for Villa yet play him for England and he looks completely out of his depth.

Would be typical Everton to lose at home to Luton, just when they look like they've turned a bit of a corner.

The two PL managers who have been very vocal over the past couple of days re “fixtures congestion and too many games being played leading to long injury lists” both saw their teams go down to “surprise defeats”. Pep Guardiola and Ten Haag hardly spreading positivity. Perhaps the Manchester City players have already gone on strike?

Another **** VAR decision for me in the Spurs Liverpool game.
That’s a review made (and shown) by someone that doesn’t understand football.

Remember when some absolute cretins on here before the season started we’re suggesting we would challenge for European football?
Today’s results would have been good for them guys with the clubs at the bottom winning.

If I’m honest I’m not sure what else the ref could have given.
It wasn’t the intent of the player but unfortunately the follow through hits all the criteria for a red card.

I think the red was borderline, certainly not a howler of a decision and Neville’s point about Jones’ intent to injure his opponent is moot. But again, the referee being presented with a still image of the incident when approaching the monitor stinks. They’re basically making the decision for him.

The ref rightly gave a yellow card. The review he was shown appeared to only show the foot going into the players leg.
Watching the full clip, you could see that Jones’ foot caught the top of the ball and his momentum carried it into the players leg.
This sort of thing can and does happen in a game of football. There was no intent.
For me, that’s exactly the sort of decision that VAR is getting wrong and it’s why people think it’s being managed by people without any understanding of, or experience of, actually playing football.
Its going too far.

But all them points are redundant, from my point of view it clearly falls under the “serious foul play” category in the rules.
He used unnecessary force that could have resulted in harm to another player.
I think they got it right on this rare occasion

If agree if he’d gone over the ball.
Looked pretty obvious to me that his only intention was to win the ball. In stretching he caught the top of the ball and momentum took him into the Spurs player.
Frozen at the point of impact, a red all day long. Viewed in full and with understanding of the situation, a yellow for me.

Are they unable to overturn if it's given on field by the linesman?

Intent has absolutely nothing to do with it though, that’s why I couldn’t understand Neville’s argument.
