Another Joey Barton

Post by Burnley1989 » Sun Oct 01, 2023 7:10 pm

No issue with his opinion which likely has some truth but can you imagine speaking out about one of your best players like this, really odd guy

Obviously hasn’t gone done well

No surprise really.
Yes he was a good player for us but for the whole of his life he’s been a gob sh-ite who is only interested in himself.
Just like he was as a player he has an over inflated opinion of himself as a manager. He’ll be soon sacked at Bristol Rovers looking at their results in the last year. He’ll no doubt blame everyone but himself and throw a few others under the bus before he gets thrown off himself.

Loved him for us as a player but read his book and it didn’t change my opinion on him as a person, he’s not someone I’d wish to spend time around

Wow
How can someone have so little self awareness? An absolute hypocrite and making comments like that in piblic whilst in a leadership position is something out of the dark ages.

He’s a bully. Always has been.
His default is to resort to violence.
Hopefully the lads team mates rally round him and Barton loses the dressing room and shortly his job.
Looking at the comments on Twitter he may lose the fans too.

To say you are going to speak to the CEO about not paying his wage is reprehensible.

I’ve read his book

To summarise he basically says I make no excuses for the mistakes I’ve made……and then goes on to list all the excuses for the mistakes he’s made

Just from listening to that clip I would say he's under a massive amount of pressure and probably on the verge of losing his job.

A team should be able to cope without one player for 2 or 3 minutes, it happens in most games.

Manager under stress.
Needs to step back and apologise- in front of the team.

What Barton says about the events is dead right, BUT! that's a conversation for the changing room and only the changing room. To broadcast it like that is unfortunately typical Barton, he will never learn or change, the blokes is a knob at times!

He was great for us, but he’s a complete dick.
