I listened to the under the under the cosh podcast with the dorking owner who is also the manager. I know that he may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I can’t help but admire the story and the rise through the leagues. I’ve even checked out the YouTube videos ‘bunch of amateurs’ which is really good.

If anyone hasn’t listened to it I highly recommend

Seems like a decent bloke tbf.

I respect their vision and drive to pull it all off - it is quite remarkable when you think about it. Wish them all the success.

I played in Surrey FA Walking Football (over 60s) County Cup on Tuesday afternoon at Meadowbank - Surrey FA have their headquarters at Meadowbank. Dorking Wanderers were training on the pitch when we all got there. Three players were all taking ice baths in big wheelie bins by the side of the pitch as the walking football kicked off. Looks like they've got a semi-professional set up. I heard that the Dorking owner had been a Wimbledon fan before franchise moved the original club to Milton Keynes - I don't know if this is confirmed.

Thought he came across as a bit of a knob and couldn't watch it all because of that but fair play for getting them from nowt to where they are now.

Feel like that pod's seen better days and I haven't kept up to date with it. Is there still a bit when Parkin slags off sports science for about fifteen minutes every episode?

Is it better than the podcasts about our club?

Totally differing styles but I’d say so yes but that’s just preference

They have raised the knob level and have Simon Garner next week in a bonus episode on Patreon.

I have listened to the Graham Westley one and actually thought he came across quite well.

He’s clearly had some bonkers ideas but when he explains the context behind them and you consider the level he operated at, some of it makes sense.

I have a far more favourable opinion of him after listening to it than I did before.

Also never realised Tom was his son.
