Mentioned this on another thread, really looking forward to seeing this for the first time in 46 years! I remember 9 year old me being very excited about us beating the league leaders, especially as they were a ‘big’ London club. Remember it being part of a great second half of the season run after we were bottom for large parts of the first half.

Just watched on catch up , brilliant, probably the last match I watched with my two brothers, for some reason I have a vague recollection we stood on the longside where the away supporters were , can anyone confirm if this was possible?

Although we had introduced an away section by then (I think) it was still cash on the turnstiles so there is no reason why you couldn't have gone in there.

On the show you could see Claret & Blue scarves both sides of the divide.
Stunning save from Alan Stevenson immediately followed by the blight of his later career, dropping a simple high ball cross.

The commentary reminded me of how biased towards London clubs The Big Match and Brian Moore were!
Loved that kit by the way.

Well it was a London made programme made for broadcast in the London area. The Granada version (the Kick Off Match) was similarly biased towards the north west clubs.

Worth getting to 37:27 just to see Frank Worthington's barnet.

Great to see that again for the first time since I watched it on the day from the Bee Hole End.
Just checked on this site's fixture lists and was surprised to see the attendance was just 16,916. Well before my time, but I do wonder how on earth they used to regularly get 40,000+ in on the Turf?
Biggest attendance I was ever on I think would have been 36,000 against Wrexham in 1974.

QPR v Burnley 11/1/75. The week after Wimbledon knocked us out of the FA Cup.

A straightforward message from Taffy to Colin Morris as they emerged from the tunnel.
