VK and the Championship

It's almost a certainty that we will be back in the Championship next season which I have no problem with as long as we don't go in to freefall and financial ruin but do you think VK will be there for the ride with us again ?

VK is more likely to be with us next season than managing Manchester City or Tottenham. ;)

Why would he get/deserve a better position if he relegates us. It’s not like he’s had bugger all to spend, unlike Dyche.

Ah yes, the old "successor to Pep" debate people were having.
Ringing a wee bit hollow at the moment.

I’m firmly in the boat that we’ve been bloody awful and that there is a lot of improvement needed (plus new signings) but dear me, “almost a certainty” and it’s not even November.

That’s beyond defeatist.

She's not the prettiest girl in this league!!

He's going nowhere near a top side at this rate. He looks lost, hopelessly lost.

I wouldn’t go that far - we have to improve and pretty quickly. If we are there or thereabouts come the end of the year, we have a chance, particularly if we can invest well in the key areas and some of the newer players start to settle and show some form.

Almost a certainty? Still odds against at most bookies.

Actually, it is odds on we won’t be. According to the bookies who have us at 13/8 to drop and 4th favourites.

The only thing that is an absolute certainty is that some fans will be wrongly calling it an absolute certainty after every defeat.

Yes it seems to be the latest buzz word, doesn't it? Burnley are playing terribly but for some reason some people hate it when others have the sheer temerity to say Burnley are playing terribly.

Tbf I’m not sure it’s related to calling out bad performances. Perhaps more so calling for the manager to go, how we are already relegated after 9 games (6 of which against top 8 teams) and how all our players are s*** and they wouldn’t even do well in the Championship.

If we go down, which is looking more probable as the weeks go on, he 100% deserves the chance to get us back up.

I hope Alan Pace affords him that opportunity.

Somewhat surprisingly, still 5/1 second favourite to be the next permanent Manchester City manager behind the new 3/1 favourite Roberto De Zerbi.
I thought he would be around 50/1.

You say this, but we are 9 games in. 9 games ago he was the best thing since sliced bread. It’s almost as if everyone has forgotten about the 2 year plan just to get promotion and the project. If we go on and win most of the next 9 games the same people will be worrying about him leaving for a big 6 club! He deserves this season and next, the same as Dyche got.

I recall an interview with Craig Bellamy during the start of their tenure where he talked about a five year plan in which he stated that they weren’t planning on getting promoted in the first year in charge as the team would not be ready but if it happened then they would accept it and the challenges it brings.

We are a currently a year ahead of the schedule without having the correct building blocks in place.

Totally Agree with jos, we are 12 months ahead of where we should be, so had we finished 7th or 8th nobody would be saying anything about this, give VK a chance for christ sake, if he walked now who would we get in to take his place ?, dont hang the man before hes found guilty, wait n see what happens, its a long road in the Prem, were not down yet, also think of all the money thats coming in to the club now, i think good days are coming but not just yet, lets wait n see. UTC. 8-)

I think it's fair comment to say we got promoted a season early, but having said that I wouldn't have missed that night at Deadwood for the world.

We have to remember we have only played TWO teams this season that wont finish outside the 10 in the entire league !!!!! and what was those results ?

Forest Away - 1-1

Luton away - 1-2

4 points from 6 !!!!!

BUT
We don't look solid, we don't look good defensively or tactically and were clueless on our best 11 - but as above even that said we are doing brilliantly in the mini league we know we are in so far, just think if we start clicking in areas.

Think you have this wrong. Looks like it's going to be a tough season, but think you underestimate VK.

Threads like this and many more remind me of why I don’t bother coming on here anymore ! BUT, before the bed wetters come on I just had to respond to this one.

9 games in and played most of the top teams with a squad full of injuries. 16 new players and young and exciting players to develop and bed in.

The gaffer will get it right, I have no doubt whatsoever about that and when he does will the OP and the other deranged doom mongers come back an apologize or go back to Ewood Park ? Doubt it.

9 games !!!!!!! You unrealist !

Becoming increasingly clear our success last season was in spite of VK not because of it... no wonder he seemed to be genuinely in disbelief after most games last season.

That’s harsh Bob. Last season he picked the team, chose the formation etc. He deserves full credit for it - just as he deserves criticism for this season’s performances (and transfer window).
