Should the board be shut down
Should the board be shut down
Obviously we’re all mad Clarets fans ,if we lose should Tony shut the board down for 48 hours to let us all calm down?

Re: Should the board be shut down
Even though I deplore a lot of the kneejerking rubbish fuelled by frustration, this board is still a great resource and we're lucky to have it. People are people, unfortunately, and that brings good and bad!

Just stay off the negative threads ... works for me
Re: Should the board be shut down
Just enjoy having an interesting debate ,life would be really dull if we all agreed ,and it’s a good way of letting off steam.

What is it with posters have these personality transplants lately

We’ve got KRBFC calling fans for posting negative stuff after all his antics over the years, and now Carwin complaining about negative threads when he starts them after each game

You’ve got to love this board sometimes

I wasn’t complaining about negative posts just saying they all happen after a defeat, and as if to prove it here we are arguing again.

It’s not arguing, it’s constructive criticism. What’s the point of a fans message board if supporters cannot voice their concerns?
If you don’t want to see or hear any criticism then shut your eyes, cup your hands over your ears and shout waaaaah.
What a wet OP. Get a grip.

Re: Should the board be shut down
I completely agree with you but posters arguments are becoming more about one upmanship eg Muric or Trafford and have stopped being constructive.Jamesy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 8:40 pmIt’s not arguing, it’s constructive criticism. Its not arguing its chat
But i do find it a good amusing read when people have full blown melt downs and feel the need to type essays to justify stuff

Re: Should the board be shut down
Funnily enough, I was thinking yesterday that maybe a period of a couple of hours after a game should be a ‘No post zone’. It may stop some of the knee jerk reactions.

A bit like managers not being able to go into see the ref.i happen should be able to put a warning on my posts to say ‘ I’m not on here to start an argument’roperclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 8:56 pmFunnily enough, I was thinking yesterday that maybe a period of a couple of hours after a game should be a ‘No post zone’. I mentioned on another thread that the board used to fall over quite often after a defeat, sometimes its a shame they fixed it.roperclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 8:56 pmFunnily enough, I was thinking yesterday that maybe a period of a couple of hours after a game should be a ‘No post zone’. Re: Should the board be shut down
People can choose when they come on. They don’t need telling when they can. Some people need to be on during a game and shortly after especially if they live abroad. People can choose the threads they read. In fact a bit of a daft post.

Re: Should the board be shut down
A bit of moderation and banning of 1-2 of the most obvious trolls would go a long way to improving things I would have thought.
Re: Should the board be shut down
Back to the same old same old ,some people interpreted this post one way some another ,wasn’t an order to tell people they can’t post ,just a thought after so much bickering after Saturday ,and as if to prove it you don’t agree with it ,but that’s your perogative ,if all the board were on the CFS during a game we’d all be cheering the team on,get on this board and we fall out like cat and dog.
Re: Should the board be shut down
We don’t fall out though, we just disagree. If we properly fall out we get banned. Simple. I know because I didn’t manage to post a thing for 12 months.
Re: Should the board be shut down
Nobody should be banned unless its full on racism or serious abuseSuperjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 9:15 pmA bit of moderation and banning of 1-2 of the most obvious trolls would go a long way to improving things I would have thought.
Trolls or not - you should be able to post your view on a topic without somebody else deciding if its fit for purpose. Sure most only post as bait anyway
Re: Should the board be shut down
I think your last comment firmly hit the nail on the head ,unfortunately some of bait catches sharks rather than tiddlers .
Re: Should the board be shut down
I would agree with those posting as bait. They do get immense pleasure when some of us bite. The worst ones are the ones who try and tie you up in knots with their perceived super intellect. Whatever the thread is about they are skilled in turning it around to suit their agenda. Usually non football related.
Having said that, we are going off topic now. Let’s keep the healthy football debate going. We are or should be passionate about BFC and have differing views. It’s healthy and long may it continue. UTC.

It shouldn't get to that point just show self control & ignore certain posters that provoke be smarter than them & don't give them what they want trust me it winds them up more, mods have no trouble & you don't.

Re: Should the board be shut down
I had to check the date I thought it was 1984. Let's ban bad news and negative comments. People need to vent, they have paid their money to watch the game and we all react differently
''Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”
''Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”
Re: Should the board be shut down
Just have 1 open continuous topic thread where anything that needs venting can be vented with no worry of it being deleted or a ban for the user
And if your worried or dont want kno. Dont go into that thread and post
