Burnley are interested in winger Crysencio Summerville, 22, but Leeds are not willing to let the Dutchman leave for any less than £25m. (Football Insider)

We surely cannot be considering yet another winger.

A winger, maybe we will see Benson shifted out at a profit, his value will drop should we go down.

Hahahahaha
You've got to laugh

Wingers in our squad:
Zaroury
Benson
Brun Larsen
Redmond
Tresor
Koleosho
Odobert
Churlinov
Gudmundsson (seems to divide time between winger and CM)

Players who can or have deputised:
Amdouni
Ramsey
Vitinho

We have 8, 9 if you count JBG, players who are primarily wingers. 12 players total who can play the position.

Even if we discount Vitinho, Amdouni & Ramsey, sell Churlinov, and class JBG as a CM now and Redmond as a CAM/No.10, that leaves Tresor, Koleosho, Brun Larsen, Odobert, Zaroury, Benson. 6 wingers for 2 positions + 2 subs. 2 will barely ever get a kick save injuries or desperation. How are players meant to appreciate in value as per 'the strategy' if two thirds of them will be lucky to average 30 minutes a game?

Meanwhile we have 1 actual leftback in Taylor, and 2 deputies in Delcroix and Vitinho.
2 rightbacks, and tenuous deputies in the form of O'Shea, AAD or Beyer.
A weak CM.
2 and a half strikers at best- Foster, the completely unproven Obafemi, and the completely past it Jay.

It's absolutely madness to sign another winger rather than the core areas of the pitch we need improvement and depth in- experience in CB, quality or cover at LB & CM, and cover up front.

No real value to us at all if he is not going to get out on the pitch with a pair of boots on. :(

If we sign another winger I'm giving up and going watching padiham

That would be beyond stupid unless we're planning to dig up the middle third of the pitch lengthways

Ask Arsene for the next Anelka for 500k, that would be good.

I can't wait for the January window if any link to a winger, however tenuous is going to be met with this kind of hysteria.

Foster also played as a ‘wide/inside forward’ to start the season against City.

Not suggesting that it’s his position but can provide cover for example if we were to somehow be short there and had adequate cover at CF (which I’m obviously aware that we don’t)

And Obafemi last season. 14!

Sorry thought you had included him! Yep 14!

This to me is egregious tbh. How many managers would be afforded wasting so many wages on players that clearly can’t all play at once?

Our recruitment is borderline mismanagement when you look at the gaps still in the squad, now we are linked with another winger, I cba with January tbh.

It's worse than that. He's making unnecessary subs just to try and keep a few wingers a bit happy.

Let the club's AI computerised analytical department know if there are any wingers worth watching 😁

It's the wrong position. We needed a left back before the season started and right back looks iffy at times (both decent players for the championship, mind).

Newcastle started with 6 full backs at Old Trafford in midweek and then brought two more on as subs. Won 0-3. Clearly, we need to buy at least four full backs.
