Woeful yesterday, really poor from Arsenal but our away support nearly 3k to Arsenal and we barely muttered a song.
Our away support was always so much better than home but we're all just resigned to losing before a ball is even kicked.
Why has it got to this?

Wasn’t there but a lot of people on Twitter suggesting there was a hell of a lot of arsenal fans in the away end?

I don't know about a lot of Arsenal fans but there was a large quantity of Chinese/Japanese in the away end that I noticed and I did find it rather bizarre because we don't have many season ticket holders yet they were at an away match

Tactics?
Team selection?
Fans give up?
Lost faith in the process?

Until last 2 games no improvement week on week.
VK’s stubbornness persisting with certain players eg Trafford
A totally imbalanced team
Team ‘strengthening’ in the wrong areas. The majority of fans could see where we needed to strengthen.
Having a worse team than last season
We can’t defend for our lives
Spending more money than ever before in the transfer window
Breaking up last seasons team and spirit
Some players clearly not up to this level eg Cullen, Trafford, Jay Rod ( past it) and Ramsey ( yet)
The manager is paid more than we’ve ever paid any manager
We are breaking record s ( defeats)
I could go on ….
Not a lot to be jumping up and down with joy about but fair okay to the fans that are.

The excitement and novelty of going to the big grounds has well and truly worn off now, add in the fact that we're almost certain to lose doesn't make for a great atmosphere.

Winning or losing doesn’t usually matter at away games, at Brentford we got battered and played poorly but the away atmosphere was good.

Tick, all of the above.

It felt very touristy and also had lots of families. London followings tend to be very different from the types we take to Boro, Preston etc.

I’ve been to Arsenal a few times now and it I think it is one of the poorest grounds for getting the atmosphere going in the away end at the best of times. Something about the gentle angle and high roof just seems to make it feel disconnected.

Maybe the Arsenal fans were saving their energy until after the game…

I remember the FA Cup match there in Coyle's first season. We made a lot of noise then.

Full credit to anyone who went yesterday, I got offered a free ticket and transport and turned it down, its a bad watch at the moment, the home games are hard enough to get up for , I'd certainly not be shelling out fortune's to watch us away

Although to be fair we were better yesterday than the last half a dozen games

It's The Premier League I'm afraid. It's not a place for the football purist. It has an inevitability that sucks the passion and enthusiasm out of your soul. I watched Blackburn v PNE on Friday night and it was a cracking game. The game flowed without every decision being micro analysed. End to end stuff that could've gone either way. The gulf between the top 2 divisions is becoming insurmountable. Its a competition with no competition. The riches of the Premier league come at a price. Football sold its soul, and this is what we're left with.

No one complained about standing. I think the more committed supporters were over the other side of the tunnel. There was about ten prepared to sing near me and a group of lads up the back. It really was full of tourists. I was surprised we had sold all the tickets but by kick off it was obvious how. They were nice enough but the balance was not right.

I had the great misfortune of walking to Euston with the clown in the Arsenal shirt just behind us. He was abusing everyone. He was an absolute pillock. Was lucky he didn't get hurt.

Some of us 74 Yr old fans don't have the legs for standing so show some compassion.

How are tourists getting in the away end? Either Burnley are selling tickets to third parties or they're going through the hassle to register with Clarets numbers?

I went yesterday.
The atmosphere was poor.
There was very little mass chanting which is what we tend to get when playing away.
It’s an open area so difficult to raise much sustained volume.
Our fans are pretty much resigned to defeat at Arsenal. Probably more so yesterday. But it was a large following in any event.
There were football tourists and Arsenal fans in the away end. It’s happened in the past and it’s easy to pick them out.
Difficult to say how many as they are in small pockets. I would guess at a couple of hundred.

Reading certain news outlets these people will soon be getting picked up by the old bill

I won't pretend I travel away I don't - too old and too many responsibilities but I've watched most of the away games on stream and tbh the away support has been magnificent other than booing Dwight Mc Neil.

I looked at our team sheet and then theirs and my heart sank so I'm not surprised away supporters are getting deflated.

I said at the time that I was very surprised when we put on sale the final block, especially after struggling to sell the earlier blocks and was even more surprised when we fairly quickly sold it out. We obviously weren't just selling to our fans!

I've got the equivalent of Clarets Numbers with loads of different clubs, normally only takes a couple of minutes.

There were a lot of half and half scarves in that away end.

That’s how I’d describe it. Utterly bizarre. Never been in an away end like it and hopefully never will again.

Where I was I’d say we were outnumbered. How it could possibly happen is beyond me?! Membership owners selling them? Club allowing claret IDs with no purchase history to buy them?

Requires a full investigation either way.

Every time I've been to Arsenal it's been full of home fans in our end.
Half the price for them if they buy from our club.

Suspect a few London based Clarets might pass them on at a profit. Or touts involved.

So the club must be selling a batch of tickets to non-season ticket holders then.

Once it goes to general sale you only need a Clarets Number which is pretty straightforward to get.

There were 2 directly in front of our row but they were with 2 Southern sounding Burnley fans so possibly some of ours inviting their mates who want a cheap ticket.

But the tickets are being transferred and sold on

If there are a section of ‘tourists’, as described, I can't imagine them purchasing the tickets individually… how many tickets can you buy with a Clarets Number on general sale?

4. But the 1st/2nd sections were sold out before it went to General Sale.

Maybe ALK think the club has the wrong kind of fans and selling away tickets to ‘tourists’ is a way generating new type of supporter.

I've done it a number of times both here and abroad, away ends can often be easier to get tickets for and people know that.

I think they all went on sale together thinking about it because I bought my tickets just after they came on sale on the Monday and was in block 22. I remember that 20-22 were all on sale as I was pondering going on the side where I've normally been or more behind the goal where I decided for.

I wanted Block 22 - I went in immediately they went on sale and 20 was the only block available. It wasn't long afterwards that they added others but 20 was the only block available at 10 that morning (or whatever time they went on sale.

Looking around, a large portion of the support were not Burnley fans. Never seen as many half/half scarves and people taking videos of Arsenal players coming to take a corner etc.

Whilst I appreciate we have fans worldwide, a substantial amount of the groups wearing half/half scarves did appear to be tourists visiting (that may have not been able to get tickets in home sections).

Maybe the Club could clarify how this has happened?

Trust me Tony, you were lucky to get block 20. 22 was all Arsenal/tourists.

From what I could see, 20 & 21 looked better.
