Ekdahl called up for sweden

Apparently Hjalmar has received a late call-up for tomorrows game vs Estonia. Injuries for central defenders is the reason.
He will, if selected play for the first time together with his brother Albin, who tomorrow makes his last game for sweden.

Hope he stays fit ... we need him back ... as much as I like Amin al Dakhil I feel Hjalmar Ekdal is a better fit alongside Jordan BeckenBayer 🙂

I’ve been impressed with Ekdal every time I’ve seen him. Hope he gets in the side soon.

Both Hjalmar and Ameen sat on the bench right now.
Belgium on Premier1.
Sweden on Premier2.

Hjalmar stayed on the bench in a 2-0 win.
Ameen came on in 84th minute in a 5-0 win.
Sander Berge captaining Norway in Scotland, currently 2-2 at HT.

Can’t wait to get this lad back in the team alongside Beyer. If Vincent sorts out the goalkeeper problem also we may stand a chance of picking up points.

If, he wasn't picking Ekdal before sadly.

Is Ekdal really the answer to our defensive woes?

He’s as raw at this level as the others.

He's 25, more games under his belt

Ekdal is a classy and intelligent defender and whilst he alone won’t be the answer to our problems, I’d expect his involvement to help matters much more than who we’ve seen so far.

I’m very pleased it looks like he’s available to play again.

Ekdal, with our current squad, would be the first name on the team sheet, after Muric, obviously.

While I did like the look of Ekdal in the Championship, he has no PL or indeed top league experience so it remains to be seen how he'll step up. Dara O'Shea would be considered a very capable Champ defender but is finding it tough - as is Al-Dakhil who looked mainly assured last year, ditto Beyer. I would like to see a Beyer - Ekdal partnership, but he may not be the panacea we crave.

Ekdal is our best central defender for actually defending. He is also very capable in the air, something which we woefully lack.

Ekdal would be a perfect stopper, with Beyer acting as a perfect Cover.

It’s EKdal.

He is not and never will be a Yorkshire curry house.

TBH Vincent Kompany should have the answer to our defensive woes, starting on Saturday. Surely he can see what most of us can see?
Ekdal does need to start though.

Perhaps he does? He might then realise that if he doesn’t make changes soon, we will sleepwalk to relegation.
Personally, I’m not too arsed as I like the Championship.
