There's an overtime ban on the day for the railway so some services may be cancelled.

If people weren't aware they leave some of the bars on the ground open after the match. We normally have a pie and a couple of beers afterwards whilst the queue at the station dies down. Although that has been helped by having decent results down there recently.

Any away friendly pubs near or within decent walking distance of the ground?

We're stopping for a couple of nights near Brighton railway station and have been advised not to leave it too late to get train to the ground due to the queues.

We went in to Falmer from Brighton in 2019. They queues at Brighton station looked ridiculously long but it didn't take too much time to get on one with so many running. This time there could be restrictions on the number of trains though.

Don't think there are any near the ground.

Here are some tips.
Your ticket includes train travel as far north as Haywards Heath. But parking is tricky there. If you want to save some driving Three Bridges station is just 2 miles off the M23 (take junc 10A) and 25 miles north of Brighton. Here trains are 4 every hour on a Saturday and take as little as 28mins to reach Brighton. There is a great sports bar opposite the train station, Snooty Fox and there is plenty of street parking (checkout Crawley Lane). Pre book a return to Haywards Heath £5.80 (before any travel concessions) and collect at station.

Parking at Haywards heath train station is fine and I think is around £6 via an app

Has Lewes gone out of favour? Free train. Parking available. Just a queue after the match.

If your driving there Lewes station car park get filled quickly and the town isn't the best for parking.
It's definitely better for drinks there being fairly small but the queuing at the train station has got worse

We're staying down for the weekend so any away friendly pub recommendations in Brighton for pre-match are welcome.

From what I remember pretty much everywhere is away friendly so it's more a matter of what type of pub you're looking for.

The Falmer Bar in the Sussex Uni Campus is away friendly its only 10 min max walk to the ground as well. Its pretty cheap as it’s a student bar and theres and lots of beer selection and plenty of room for those needing a seat. They serve food on match days as well. Quite a few of my Brighton supporting friends have never heard of been in there. Apart from that there’s nothing near the ground that caters for away fans.

I hope we never follow the Brighton example of the out-of-town ground. It used to be a fairly pleasant jaunt from Lewes in the beginning, but it seems half the Brighton fans appear to drive up there now.

If you exit the back of the station where the taxi rank is and head towards London Rd there's a fair few pubs around that vicinity, get Google maps up for directions.
Also a tap room bar too called "UnBarred Brewery & Taproom" seems popular when I've driven by

Doesn't take long on the train back into Brighton but there are always long queues after the game although they move quickly

Brighton shuttle service: will be departing from Old Steine (bus stop F) from three hours before kick-off. Supporters can also use bus number 25, 28, 29 from this stop to Falmer. Post-match pick up from Falmer station A27 bus stop.

Lewes shuttle service: will be departing from Lewes train station from 3 hours before kick -off. Post-match pick up from the A27 eastbound bus stop.

Brighton & Hove Buses and Stagecoach will be operating a normal Saturday service across our Travel Zone.

Mill Road and Brighton Racecourse park & ride sites open from 12 noon, with spaces allocated on a first come, first served basis.

EDF park and ride is open from 12 noon and must be pre booked.

The last P&R bus leaves the stadium one and a half hours after the final whistle and the sites close shortly afterwards.

As CT says, there is also no guarantee that all of these will be running with late cancellations expected on the service.

Also worth noting that trains aren't running from St Pancras to Brighton. If you're travelling via London you'll need to get a train from London Bridge or Victoria.

Those trains are booked to run as it's normally 6 per hour.
But again with the crowds you could be standing there along time
