VK would have loved to manage this team, not many defenders and plenty of attacking flair,

Ben Mee at the back there still going strong today, on a diet of Masseys and Woodbines no doubt.

Last season was brilliant but some of the younger board members missed a hell of a side ,wish I had a Time Machine.

Or a typical 2-3-5.

This side was on the decline by 1968. Four consecutive finishes of 14th had followed the 3rd in 1965-66 and preceded 21st in 1970-71. A photo of the 1965-66 team would have been more fitting. Great photo, all the same.

Some hard men in that team and most were wonderful players. I was fortunate to see them all in action. Morgan must have been sold fairly soon after that photo was taken though, as I don't recall him playing in a side with Casper too many times.

Never seen that photo before - thanks for posting Westleigh. Bit of a surprise to see Ray Ternent on there as he only made 13 league appearances for us in his 5 seasons at the club.

The caption says January 1968 & Willie was sold to Man Utd in August of that year.

Willie was sold to Man Utd in August of that year. I've nearly come to terms with it.
